Importing Music

I have quite a few split tracks that we use for praise and worship. They are in iTunes with a .m4a extension but will not work with Proclaim when I try to insert them. What should the extension be in order to be compatible with Proclaim?

Just in case Scotts reply didn't enlighten you?

It is surprising, and very inconvenient, that Proclaim cannot use iTunes stuff out of the box. The number if Mac users struggling with this each week must be significant.

In order to get your tracks to work...

Create a new folder - mine is called 'MP3 for Proclaim'
Find the track in iTunes and secondary click on it to produce the menu.
Look for the 'Create MP3 version' entry about 2/3 of the way down. (if it is not there you need to set it up in iTunes preferences)
After clicking on the 'Create MP3 version' entry you will see an new version of your track in the song list right below the original.
Copy and paste this new track into you new folder.
Delete the new track from iTunes. You don't want low resolution tracks cluttering up iTunes itself.
Come to Proclaim - and add the track from your new folder in the normal way.
In theory you should be able to delete the track and/or folder but I keep mine just in case of a software glitch.

My current folder has 105 tracks in it all of which have had to go through this convoluted procedure.

With you, I guess, I wait for the team to catch up with the fact a lot of people have a lot of stuff in iTunes and that is where they prefer to keep it.
