Peace and Joy to my Logos Forums Brothers and Sisters! *smile*
I can't even remember the last time I used the word "anachronism," but I need it here ...
A few days ago I acquired Warrior Poet: Before David Was King from Vyrso .... And! I'm enjoying it immensely!
It has helped me understand the times of David and Saul and Samuel better, and I am grateful. It is historical fiction, and I grant the author the usual liberties ... of course ... *smile*
It's particularly good when it comes to the Psalms of Praise of David and ancient Israel ..
My problem with the book is that -- twice -- when the author describes someone cooking, the author puts tomatoes -- of all things! -- into the ingredients... Tomatoes come from South American and didn't even make Italy until the mid-1500's *smile*
Absolutely impossible! But, don't stay away from the book because of that! It has a lot of good features. Lots and Lots of good features.
So, I'm wondering, Dear Vyrso People of Logos, .... could you send a note to the publisher or the author to "clean up" the text slightly for future editions so future readers can concentrate on the concepts rather than anachronisms, eh??? !!!
