Morph search within a range of verses

I found an old Logos 4 thread where it was confirmed that morph search results are confined within a single verse. Is this still true in Logos 5? I can run a WITHIN 200 WORDS sort of search, but it still does not seem to cross verse boundaries.

Here's my example. In John 20.21, both αποστελλω and πεμπω are used. I want to check all the instances where those words are used in John, but this is the only place where both words are used in the same verse. In BibleWorks, I can run a command line search to find those words within 3 verses of each other (.αποστελλω πεμπω;3), and I get results in John 1.22ff; 5:30-37; 7:28-33; 9:4-7 and 20.21.

Is there a quick way to conduct a morph search where two (or more) terms are located within X verses of each other?

For now, I can only think of one way of doing so.

Using a Morph search, do an OR search for the two terms, then use Verses or Aligned view and scan the results to see when hits are in close proximity.

That works fairly well for the search example I'm using here, but there are other more complicated searches where this approach would be tedious to sort through the results.

Thanks for any suggestions! And if it can't be done, then this is a recommendation to Logos to add this capability.

No!

Using a Morph search, do an OR search for the two terms, then use Verses or Aligned view and scan the results to see when hits are in close proximity.

Morph is always limited to results within a single verse. Verses/Aligned/Analysis only provide different views of the results.

As illustrated by KS4J you have to translate a Morph Search into a Basic search to enlarge the range, as Basic Search will match results within a single chapter (of a bible).

However, a Syntax Search is the only way to get related results:

This gives Jn 20:21 & Acts 11:29-30. You can do the same for a Sentence instead of a Clause, but the results are the same.

Dave, I tried to do the same syntax search, but don't know how to get the dotted lines. My search with normal line does't get any results. Thanks for any help!

Red will highlight the Word (the other tick box in the menu), but not affect the actual results.

it doesn't give any results...

Does not work ;-/ Maybe I do not own the essential resources...

Thanks, KS4J. I think I had tried your suggestion (input in Morph, switch to Basic), but I didn't get any results. I must have messed something up, because emulating your search I did get the results. The results, however, aren't in a particularly helpful view.

Thanks, Dave. Yes, I knew that Morph search only works within a verse, but running an OR search gives me the results I want, but I have to sort through them a bit. Checking the various views for looking at the results, the Verses (or Aligned) give the best quick visual picture of which words are being used (the different colors to distinguish between hits with the two words is really excellent) and in what proximity. Below is a graphic of what I found most helpful.

Still, if one is looking for two or more Greek lemmas (or roots) that are near each other but not in the same clause or sentence, it would be nice to have the multi-verse search parameter.

Knowing that verse numbering does not correspond with Greek sentences, personally prefer Morph Search proximity option that can cross Chapter and Verse boundaries.

Concur Basic Search currently will not cross chapter boundary. Likewise know that Bible and Morph Search will not cross verse boundaries. One Greek sentence can span many verses: e.g. Ephesians 1:3-14 as well as one verse having many sentences. Also sentences can span verse boundaries: e.g. Revelation 19:7-8
