proclaim signal to faithless app

We have 2 wifi SSID call one Mainhall and the other Guest. The desktop that projects the sermon is logged into Mainhall. We'd like to have the congregation sign in to the Guest account. However the app would not recognize the presentation and can't get the proclaim signal when signed into Guest. I believe the two wifi accounts are on one router. Help please.

Proclaim signals rely on the presentation computer and the devices running the apps to both be connected to the Internet - I would be surprised if the use of different SSIDs affected anything directly.

In your environment do all the devices have good Internet access?

I more was trying to understand how the devices are accessing the Internet.

Is it using their own cellular capabilities or is it using the router? And is the router connected to the Internet?

The router is connected to the internet. I actually noticed the issue with a tablet..it does not use cell signal.the tablet access the Internet using the router.

I should add that my cell works when I am logged into the Main hall SSID. When the cell is connected to the router, that is how it accesses the Internet.

You might consider having your wireless networks configured by a network specialist. By having a different SSID for each of the two wireless access devices you are effectively segregating them into two separate networks regardless of how they connect to your internet provider. Multiple wireless access points/routers within the facility can be configured with the same SSID. This will enable you to travel between separate coverage areas without interruption. Your wireless device will automatically switch to the access point with the strongest signal as you move around within the coverage area.

It's not as simple as resetting the SSID's; there are some additional configuration changes required. You can probably find detailed instructions on the internet but a local specialist might be the best choice.

Funny you say that. The person that setup the router is the head IT of the Navy here in my area. He knows what he is doing.

That's actually great news. Your system's multiple access points are probably setup correctly with the same SSID and Guest access enabled. If this is the case, and users are accessing the wireless access points via the Guest login, they would normally be given access to the internet but restricted from accessing anything on the internal network. If your presentation system is connected to the internal network, any user connected to the Guest network would not have access to the Proclaim signals. You can test this theory by connecting your protection system to the Guest network. Your other Guest users should then have access to the signals. It's easy enough to try it out once.

Well, in light of the ongoing question surrounding the use of signals, and the ongoing absence of detailed technical data or detailed usage and configuration instructions from Logos concerning the subject, I conducted a "highly scientific" test using signals and my location. I hope it helps someone out there and yes, signals are location specific; otherwise you would have to sift through hundreds of presentations around the country to find yours.

I tested using an android phone, an iPhone, and an iPad, and connected to the internet via internal wifi access (non-guest login granted full access to the internal network and internet), guest wifi access (granted access to the internet but restricted from accessing anything on the internal network), and via the 3g/4g cellular network.

With regard to the android and iPhone devices, it does not seem matter how the device is connected to the internet. Signals worked equally well with any of the connection methods, as long as the device remained in the vicinity of the address registered for the presentation. While connected via 3g/4g, signals quit working when I moved several blocks away from the presentation address, then returned to normal operation as I returned.

I was unable to make signals work on the iPad device under any circumstance. The iPad used for this was not equipped for cellular communications, and was only tested using the two wifi methods. I confirmed that the iPad location service was enabled and that it was able to determine its exact location using the map application, but it would not work.
