Thanks for the Lutheran packages
It would also be nice if there could be dynamic pricing and a page that compares the packages together that shows us what we already own. I simply do not want to call Logos.

YES! Thanks to Logos for the LutheranPackages [:)]
I was looking for Spener's Pia Desideria, but coudn't find it. Would be quite important to understand the actual background of autonomous/independent Groups within the German Lutheran (and reformed) Church (Landeskirchen). But maybe it's not that important for american Lutheranism.

There is dynamic pricing, but no comparison page yet for any of the new packages. [:(]
This is my price (I own Logos Bronze and a few other things). You still have to add the coupon (lutheranbp) for the extra 15% off.

Spener has had a GREAT influence on American Lutheranism - but much of it has been indirect. It was translated into English in 1964, and I think is out of print - although I have a copy of it in front of me... It is a classic text that does need to find a way back though.

You're not seeing dynamic pricing?

I wish Logos would, just once, finish things first and release them afterwards, instead of releasing things long before the website is ready for it, and then expect us to spend countless hours doing the work they should have done for us.

I'm glad you're happy, and of course it's a good thing that they exist at all, but am I the only Lutheran who is thoroughly disappointed with the content of these packages? No Luther's Works??? Melanchton? Chemnitz? I'll take a closer look later, but right now I can't see me buying any of these. But if the rest of you are happy, I'm fine with that. I'm not much of a Lutheran anyway. I consider Sola Scriptura to be an utterly unbiblical human tradition.[:D]
The Anglican ones look much better. I'll probably buy one of those. And I assume I'll buy an Orthodox one when they show up. But the Lutheran will most likely have to wait until Concordia is on board. I can't believe they refused to participate! (I'm not blaming you, Gabe, I assume you did your best. (And you'll probably rather sell me an Orthodox package anyway.[:D]))
A couple of other comments:
- The Richter morphology should have a 'coming later' star after it in all packages it's part of (for I assume you haven't shipped it without me noticing).
- The Luther Bible and the Raamattu are not Ancient Texts.
- Is it correct that you're including the 29 vol UBS OT that you no longer sell, rather than the 35 vol that you do sell? (The 35 vol would make me more likely to buy a higher Anglican package.[;)])
- Is it correct this time that you're including the Twenty Centuries of Christian Worship, the volume that you removed from the Reformed packages?

I agree. The lack of Concordia publications is unfortunate. There's a definite lack of primary sources, especially when compared to the Reformed packages. At least the Discourse on Free Will is included (from T&T Clark). Since Calvin's Institutes is also included, it looks like there may be more of Calvin's writings than Luther's. [:O]
However, compared to other collections, the Luther's works package is relatively cheap---especially when you consider the number of volumes, so it's a no-brainer add-on if you're buying a base package for the first time. (It's 60% the cost of the John Owen package and 25% the cost of the Calvin 500 package)

There *is* dynamic pricing on all Base Packages (even the SDA ones on Pre-Pub).
A new, dynamic comparison chart is on the way. Our developers are hard at work on this, and it is at the top of their priority list. I wish I could give a firm date, but hopefully it's very soon.
We know this makes it a little difficult right now, but we wanted to get these on the website for people to be considering until the other web elements are in place. There's a larger, overall refresh coming for these components, so it goes beyond just these new Base Package tracks. Thank you for your patience!

You're welcome!
That text is available in this collection. We have included everything Lutheran that we possibly can, and will continually work to make these new Base Packages better and better.

Although it's not perfect, my sales rep was able to provide a list for what would be new for me in very short order. Logos have the systems in place, they're just not public-facing yet.

I have to agree with fgh. No Luther's Works in any of the base "Lutheran" packages is impossible to excuse. I mean, really. It's Luther's Works. Lutheran base package.

That is not what I said! Am I disappointed? Yes, very, but Gabe can't very well include Luther's Works without a contract, nor can he put a gun to the head of Concordia's CEO, nor does Concordia have a divine duty to work with Logos, or even publish with them at all. As a consumer, I choose not to buy, and I hope to find the time to tell Concordia so, but there is nothing "impossible to excuse" here.

This, on the other hand, is a totally different matter.
Mine didn't arrive until well after I went to bed, and when I finally saw them on Saturday morning, they were such a mess as to be utterly unuseable. I spent 2-3 hours working on the Anglican ones before I gave up. It would have taken me at least 10 more to get something useable out of them. Even working from the webpages would have been faster.
I am so utterly sick and tired of Logos' complete lack of respect for their customers, their constantly botched launches, their never having the website ready in time, their constant endless waste of our time. When you do a launch like this, you check, double-check, triple-check, and quadruple-check the lists for errors before you launch. And if you still find errors the 3rd or 4th time, you check a 5th and 6th time as well. And you make sure the website is finished in time, with every possible tool to facilitate it for the customers. You don't leave the errors for the customers to find, and you don't force customers to create comparison charts and do CS for each other. No other company I deal with treats customers like this, nor would they survive if they did.
I've wasted far too much time on these packages, and lost all interest I might have had in them in the process. Right now it's highly doubtful if I'll buy even the Anglican package I was fairly certain I'd buy.

I'd summarize this as a culture of sloppiness which is not a good thing for a software company to have as part of their public image. You would think they'd learn that it is cheaper to do it right the first time than to correct it afterwards but it is a constant struggle between the development staff and management in nearly every IT department.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Seems that publishing the new BP would have been better after MarchMadness... :-/
Anyway - I like the idea of denominational BP and hoping they take sufficient time for the coming German BP/Bundles...

It seems strange to me that the Reformed base packages have the Christian Worship one year and three year lectionaries, while the Lutheran base packages don't, since Christian Worship is a Lutheran hymnal published by Northwestern Publishing House.

This appears to be an oversight. We will have these added to all four Base Packages and pushed out to current owners (and new purchases) soon.
Thanks!
