Issues with video playback

During my last two services, a video that I am uploading to my presentation will not correctly playback. I can play the local file on my computer in quicktime (it is a .mov file) but when I upload the video to proclaim it causes an issue. The issue is strange...the file starts correctly, and then at random the video will freeze (just the video portion of the video, the audio continues to play) and then after a few moments the video will catch up and continue playing. I have done this before with no issues, but in the last weeks have had this issue happen twice, one during live service.

Please advise any possible fixes as I would like to use this tomorrow for Service, but cannot risk the service if the technology is not going to work.

Interesting, I have never run into this issue in house. I would suggest adding the video as a local file on the presenting computer for now as a workaround. I will investigate further. What is the name of the presentation that contains this video?

I am seeing a similar issue on my Windows 7 machine (plenty of horsepower) at church. However the video consistently runs behind the audio. It doesn't matter if it is local only or if it has been uploaded to the group. I figured that it was a problem with how the video had been transcribed or maybe even a problem with the codec on the machine since the same video plays fine on my Windows 7 machine at home. So, I did a test. I downloaded a video (mp4) and played it with VLC and Windows Media Player, no problems with either. As soon as I added the video to Proclaim (local machine only) the video started lagging behind the audio. This has happened with every video for the last two weeks. We always run the latest version of Proclaim. I have been able to get around this by having my A/V operator switch to VLC to play the videos, but that is annoying and we would much rather stay in Proclaim for everything. PLEASE HELP!

I have gotten rid of the presentation that was an issue, but I created a new presentation that has only the video, and named it video_issue so that it would be easy to find and troubleshoot. SInce it is a test case, you are free to do anything you would like to the presentation.

I find issues not just in the uploaded version, but if I save it to the local computer I get the same issue, however if I play the same file in quicktime, I have no issue.

In the short-term I just played my movie file in quicktime during service, but it is a pain for the AV tech to have to swap programs as well as it looks less than professional as you can see the quicktime player on the screen not just the video.

Hey Jeff,

So I played the video on my computer in house and it seemed to play fine. I am going to try other systems as well to see if I can track down the issue. In that case, what are the system specs of the computer you are using Proclaim on? This will give me an idea of what systems to test videos on.
