The app isn't easy to use

I'm going to compare Faithlife Study Bible to YouVersion's Bible app.

One, as a new user, YouVersion is WAY easier to pick up than Faithlife. I don't understand the split panels thing really. I understand the concept, but I want to be able to hide it. Maybe you can, but it's not very apparent how to go about doing that. Only being able to use the Lexham English Bible for free is just crazy. Navigation is poor. It doesn't follow mainstream app navigation, which adds to the frustration of learning it.

Again, YouVersion, I can pick it up and start reading with no problem. There's tons of versions to choose from for free.

I wish I could have the elegance of YouVersion with signals from Proclaim. It stinks that I can't.

I'm on iOS, so maybe it's different on another platform.

The Faithlife app is designed to keep the split panels so that you have the Bible text in one and a dictionary / study resource beneath it and you can't remove that.

However the Bible app (the original Logos app) does support having one or two panels and you may want to try looking at that.

    It's available at https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/bible!/id336400266?mt=8

If you register with Logos you do get access to some other versions for "online use" only. I believe these include ASB, ESV, ASV, GNT, HCSB, KJV, NKJV, NLT,

Navigation is poor. It doesn't follow mainstream app navigation, which adds to the frustration of learning it.

I don't understand what you mean by this. Can you be specific?

Again, YouVersion, I can pick it up and start reading with no problem

What issues do you have with just starting to read?

Signals are available in the Bible app so that might help

No. Logos make mobile apps for Android and iOS and the functionality is pretty much the same.

    Much better!

I think the study resource is good for well, studying...but for following along in a service it can kinda trip up first time users. So the Logos Bible app is perfect for this and it allows signals! Great!

I still like how YouVersion has a black background with white lettering. Is it possible to do this in the Logos Bible?

Glad it gives you more of what you are looking for

Yes - it is done on a per-resource basis

Tap the screen with a resource open and select "Aa" from the popup menu which appears at the top and select "Low Light"
