Bilingual bible messages

Our church is bilingual, we are just starting to use proclaim, however, in PowerPoint, we would post scriptures in two languages by splitting the slide in two, top in English bottom in Spanish. We have been trying to do the same in Proclaim but we can't seem to figure it out unless we do it manually, which defeats the purpose. Do you have any suggestions how we can do this, or best suggestions on how we should approach this issue.

The effect you want is not currently available in Proclaim.

At the moment the best way forward is to continue your current practise of preparing the Bible Passages in PowerPoint/Keynote exporting them as images and importing them to Proclaim.

Not ideal but will add little time to your current method and will look quite good on the screen.

If I am understanding what you are looking for, there is a way to do it half-manually half-automated.

Follow these steps and see if it gives the effect you are looking for:

1) Click "Add Item" and select "Bible"

2) In the reference, type a verse like "John 3:16"

3) In the slide preview, click over the Bible text. You should see a red rectangle before you click, then a blue rectangle. Click and hold the bottom middle square of the blue rectangle in order to resize the square. Drag it about half way up the slide.

4) Above the slide click the "T" that is in a box. Select "Custom"

5) A new rectangle will appear with the words "Example Text" in it. Click and hold on the "Example Text" letters to drag the field down. Resize to box to make it fit correctly on the slide.

6) In the editing section on the left, you should now see a text box that also says "Example Text." Type in the translated verse, and you'll be good to go!

If we receive more requests for a feature to have multiple verse blocks on one slide, we can definitely add it to the backlog of features. This is the first such request that I'm aware of - is anyone else on the forum interested in such a feature?

Hey Mike,

It is not possible to get the text in a custom caption to wrap; same goes for creating a second line.

Hello Aaron & others,

I have tried Aaron's suggestion before posting my original post, but as some have found out from Aaron reply in item #6, you cannot wrap the text in the custom box. In the meantime, I think I will continue to import the PowerPoint slide.
