Why do I have to edit a song every time I add it?

I click on "add song" and I add one of my songs. It always puts it on the generic background and I have to re-edit it every single time. That is so aggravating. Is there a way to get around that? I know I can do it in the "reuse items", but all the songs that I have previously edited are not there.

The reason for this is that a change made awhile ago makes it so that customizations made to a specific item are conserved even if you change the background. What you can do is the following:

Edit a song item to your liking
Add that song to a new presentation through the 'reuse items' menu (like you stated above)
Change the song lyrics to what you please.

Also, the 'reuse item' menu shows items in existing presentations only. If you delete a presentation, all the items from that presentation will be removed from the 'reuse items' menu (unless they are present in another presentation). Does this make sense?

Jamie, just to add to what Spencer is saying, if you want to build a library of songs that are formatted the way you like them, a work around would be to create a presentation named "Saved Songs" or something like that. Add each song you want to reuse later to that presentation and format it the way you want it. Then when you add it to your weekly presentation, just add it from the "Reuse Items" section. Just leave your songs in the "Saved Songs" and they will stay that way with your formatting each time you use them.

Thanks you guys! I'll do the saved songs one. This is one feature I'm not liking in Proclaim... I've used Media Shout for years, and when I add a song to my library, and edit it once, it stays that way unless I edit it again.

I completely agree. I had the same feature in easy worship. I don't have time to re-edit songs each and every time. This feature, plus a default text (and one that wraps instead of fits to the line) would be major needs if I am going to stay with Proclaim.
