EG White, collection how to?
Greetings all,
Working hard to get settled in with Logos. It's all very new to me so I hope you don't mind a newbie question. What is the best way to create a Collection of Ellen G. White's writings please?
Thank you in advance,
Ronald

Creating a collection with the following rule should do it (notice there cannot be any space after the colon before the opening quotation mark):
author:"Ellen G. White"
See http://wiki.logos.com/Collections for more instructions on creating collections.

Use author:"white, ellen", subject:"ellen white writings"
That gives me 402 resources.
Mission: To serve God as He desires.

If you just put "Ellen White" in the resource matching box you get 412 Resources.

Linval, can you be more specific please or provide a screen shot?

If I type Ellen White in the library find box, I get a lot of false matches. If I put it in quotes I get 402.

He had quotes around it. And maybe he has more Ellen White resources than you do (but that would be hard to fathom, knowing how gung-ho you are about SDA resources).

Am I that transparent? [:D] All of the released material for Mrs White for Logos (as far as I know) is in the Expanded Commentary Set.

If you just put "Ellen White" in the resource matching box you get 412 Resources.
author:"Ellen G. White" gets 6
author:"Ellen White" gets 62
author:"white, ellen" Gives the same list of 62.
Note that there are 2 resources that list White, E. G. as author
author:"white, ellen", subject:"ellen white writings" 402
subject:"ellen white writings" also gives 402

"Ellen White" with quotes gives 402
Ellen White With no quotes gives 412Picks up in addition to the 402 :

I Know this a question from June 2014, three months ago, but I didn't see a reply for how I created a Collection of Ellen White books. Just simply use the tag egw in the rule box, that's it. All her books, periodicals and Pamphlets, etc.., are tagged from Logos with that tag as well as sda tag. I found that to be the best way to make sure that all the books show up. Not all Her books are tagged with the authors name and some books are tagged differently, as in Ellen G. White Estate, and White, Ellen Gould. The BIO's of Arthur White are also included in this collection. If you don't want them then simply exclude them.
You can also make an SDA collection with the sda tag in the collection tool to exclude all non-SDA material.
Hope you are blessed with Logos 5 and the Spirit of Prophecy Collection.
