How do I handle Parallel Resources? Is it broken?

I have a pane for Lexicons and language aids littered with many tabs across the top so I thought I'd eliminate some tabs by making more use of parallel resources but I find that does not work.

For example, my tab with Kittel's Theological Dictionary of the New Testament doesn't even show a Parallel Resource Sets icon.  The tab for Louw & Nida Greek-English Lexicon shows the parallel resource icon but says there are no parallel resources. My tab for Swanson's DBL has a parallel resource list that includes the first two, but if I select either one there is no going back!! because once selected they won't show any parallel resources.

I did create a collection that contains all my lexicons including Kittel and Louw & Nida and have selected the "show in parallel resources" option for that collection.

I'm stumped. Any ideas?

Have a great day,

You might take a look at this thread Bug(?) Parallel Resources Set with certain Greek Lexicons

Does the resource have a Greek HeadWord displayed?

Did you try the arrow keys? They seems to work even when the PRS icon does not.

That almost works. I say almost because as soon as I "arrow" over to Strong's Concise Dictionary, the Parallel Set icon goes away and the right and left arrow keys fail, so once again I get stuck.

On the other hand, I now find that the Parallel Resource list appears when I am using Kittel's or Louw & Nida. Before I made my first post here, I reinstated my layout from a previous version and closed/restarted Logos several times to make sure that the problem was persistent, now a few hours later it's all different. That's even worse. Either way it doesn't seem I can count on using Parallel Resource Sets to simplify my layout.

    BTW I'm running Logos Bible Software 5.2a SR-6 (5.2.1.0155)  on Windows 7.

Hmmm .... out of curiousity, I tried mine.  Kittel shows 16 parallels. I tried arrowing them back and forth and they didn't miss a beat. I tried several other oldies (eg Vines) and they were happy too.

I remember TDNT had a special numbering system; Mark was the expert on that.

But otherwise, it'd seem you have (had?) a definite issue.

Myself, I keep about 8 open per language all the time, and linked. No issues on slowing the PC down. The reason is I'm familiar with which one is good at 'X' and so want that one and no other.

You should always be able to get back by clicking the back arrow at the top right.

I presume you're aware that the Parallel Resources button only shows up when you're in the main part of the dictionary, not when you open to the title page, preface, introduction, abbreviations or the like?

One possible reason for some of your problems might be dictionaries like the TDNT, which has entries like "σάββατον, σαββατισμός, παρασκευή,". I find that when I start with σάββατον and right-arrow my way past the TDNT, Logos occasionally switches over to one of the other words.

So pay attention to the reference box: does the word suddenly change to another one? Or does it suddenly change from e g Greek headword to e g Strong's number?

How obscure. At first I thought you were wrong, so to test it by scrolling to the title pages of Louw & Nida and Kittel's and found that the Parallel Resource Sets icon did in fact remain. So I left them at that page and restarted Logos. Presto Chango! they disappeared until I scroll down into the dictionary. So now TDNT shows resources but Kittel's has the message "No Parallel Resources." I restarted again without any change, yet I thought that yesterday after several restarts and reinstating my layout that the Kittlel's eventually showed a list of parallel resources.

Whatever is happening it is certainly not consistent or in the least bit useful.
