    Interesting bit from the preview...

Therein lies the two-part problem that is the source of his struggles.

    I placed my order.

David, thank you for the snippet from the preview.  I am a third generation Adventist.  While I do not agree with some of Dr. Knight's theology I enjoy his writing as he is very thought provoking.  The preview statement you shared is how I feel about Adventism also.  The price seems a little high for a 100 page book, but I placed my order.

I thought Lynden's comment was interesting. Our little town is a bit of a microcosm of Christianity-world.  So we have a 'pecking order'  of protestent churches. First, there's evangelical churches, and then the 'traditional' churches, and then the wild churches (in the view of evangelical churches), and finally then there's Catholics and the synogogue, the latter two being the majority.

Now, what's interesting in the first group, is that it's further 'pecked'.  Your Baptists and wanna-be Baptists (they renamed to community but everyone knows they're still Baptist) are in position 1. Second position is an evangelical church that has split about 5 times (creating the other ones), plus the Adventists.  Third position is the restorationers since they sometimes look ackance at the first two.

But if you asked about 95% of the evangelicals here if there's any difference between the Adventists and the other evangelicals, the answer would be limited to where events put their parking on which day (churches are used for parking for events, in this case Saturday events vs Sunday events).

David, I thank you for convictions. I'm hoping that at Logos SDA we can have a community of global fellowship where we can work through some of the theological questions that thinking people wrestle with. Soon we will be doing more with social media at Logos SDA to facilitate that discussion.

Rick, the reason books are more expensive in Logos is that in our "ecosystem" they become a whole different product through the extensive tagging and coding that goes on--exquisitely searchable in user-defined collections or en masse with your total Logos library!

Sister White predicted this so it's not surprising.

The religion of Jesus is endangered. It is being mingled with worldliness. Worldly policy is taking the place of the true piety and wisdom that comes from above, and God will remove His prospering hand from the conference. Shall the Ark of the Covenant be removed from this people? Shall idols be smuggled in? Shall false principles and false precepts be brought into the sanctuary? Shall antichrist be respected? Shall the true doctrines and principles given us by God, which have made us what we are, be ignored? Shall God's instrumentality, the publishing house, become a mere political, worldly institution? This is directly where the enemy, through blinded, unconsecrated men, is leading us. —21MR 448.3.

I'm not so sure you can call this a "prediction". It's more like a history lesson or a documentary.

I'm not sure how this would apply to getting books into Logos, which actually are priced quite well compared with a library in the 19-century library, particularly with what you are getting in Logos. And as your SDA product manager, I am committed to the lowest prices possible for my pastors (having been one for many years myself).

I think Logos Bible Software may be a partial fulfillment of the Daniel 12 prophecy that in the last days, knowledge will be increased. Knowledge perhaps not only of the prophecies themselves but of creative ways to disseminate them.

Just my thoughts. Thanks for sharing too.
