Notes field visibility while "on-air" from displaying PC

During our services, our slides are controlled by the audio/video team. Our Pastor provides us the notes/text from his sermon and we advance the slides at the appropriate point. When using Powerpoint, this is done by using the "notes" field such that it shows up in the presenter view on our local display while the slides are shown full screen projected.

With Proclaim, the presenter view shows as preview mode and the notes field is not visible. It looks like I can go to edit mode and then click notes to see it, but that is now how it should work. That's why the notes field is really there - to give info/clues to the presenter. So, is there a way to make this work? Or is this a feature that's not currently there. I seem to remember it mentioned as being part of the remote app but, honestly, the remote app lacks polish in the way it operates (ie: lag, requiring internet server connection and not just a local connection to displaying PC, only allows control and not just viewing).

If you have multiple monitors, you can set one of the monitors to display the notes for the slide that is currently showing; You click the 'settings' tab at the top left corner of the screen, and then in the drop down menu, set a monitor listed there to display the notes (it will be an option when clicking the drop down menu to the right of the monitor number).

Earlier this week, I was able to see what you were referring to. When I tried to do it this AM, I could not make that work. Basically, I was trying to change this while "on-air". But, I can't seem to make it work when off-air either now.

But, between trying it earlier this week and then again this AM, there was a software update. Did something get broken between those 2 versions? Can someone else check to make sure this actually still works?

This should still work as long as you have two or more monitors (or a monitor and projector). I will investigate but it still seems to work for me. What are you doing that leads to this happening?

I haven't taken the time to actively test and try to reproduce what I was seeing. Essentially, when I was "on-air", I tried to go into settings and change the 1 monitor from "app" to "notes". But, the monitors were both listed but "grey'd out" so I couldn't click on them to change it.

I will work to reproduce it later this week or the weekend.

Ok, I was able to check this yesterday. While "on-air", it does not allow me to change the function of either monitor. So, on the secondary monitor (the one where the normal app resides), I could not change that to notes.

So, I tried the android application. Unfortunately, it didn't work either. In the "control" mode for the on-air presentation, it would let me change slides, but that's it. The "..." button that normally brings up a menu did nothing. So I couldn't switch to other views. The "view" mode for the same presentation didn't let me change to anything else either.

My only option to see the notes still resides with, on the application view display, go from preview to edit mode and then click on the notes field. But, with all the other stuff on the display that the view provides, it's cumbersome and problematic to use. It really needs to be an option for the preview screens.

What is the notes field really for in your guys mind if not for use during the service?!? Is it just meant to be there to leave comments for the various people designing the service? It doesn't seem to be so based on the tutorial videos. You really want those notes to be something obvious for the person running the service (ie: "Stay on this slide until after..." or whatever)

The output setting can only be changed when you're off air.

Did you try it on an Android tablet or phone? The notes view is only supported by larger (tablet) devices.

You should be able to configure one of your displays to show the notes view as long as you're currently off air and the external display is connected.

The notes view is intended to be used for notes read by a speaker running the service from his/her tablet device.

I was using a phone and not a tablet.

The sermon slides are not controlled by our speaker. While we might be able to make the argument that they should be, in our case they aren't.

I don't have 3 monitors on my system. I just have two (the operator and the projector). So basically, Powerpoint has more power in the presenter view than Proclaim does.

It sounds like your best course of action would be to use a tablet of some sort and use the sermon notes view, if you have access to one.
