Powerpoint Does Not Import Fonts Correctly

Using pptx, Proclaim 1.5.0.0011 does not correctly import fonts. Instead it produces a much larger font that is off the screen. Also, using pptx, I get this error message "Presentation does not contain a valid location. Signals will not be broadcast properly." When I use ppt the fonts doe display properly, but there are no signals. Any solutions?

The fonts used in your PowerPoint presentation must also be installed on the machine running the import, else a fallback font will be used. Falling back to a different font could produce differences in font size.

When importing a PowerPoint presentation we automatically detect Bible references in the textual content. If detected signals are created and added to the resulting service item for broadcast to mobile devices following the presentation. If you have signals in your presentation and go On Air without first setting the presentation location we warn you - following presentations depends on location.

Hi Scott,

I'm having the same problem with changed fonts after importing pptx files to Proclaim but I do have the fonts installed on the importing machine. In fact, the whole process is happening on the same machine. I create the PowerPoint presentation and import it into Proclaim but the fonts are wrong. The font I'm using is Adobe Garamond Pro Bold (comes with the Adobe CS5.5 suite) and it's accessible in other programs in windows.

Any thoughts?

I have been trying to get my powerpoint fonts to import correctly. I am running a mac and I have all of the fonts on my computer. I import the powerpoint from the same computer. I use powerpoint 2011 for mac 14.2.3

Any Ideas?

I have the same problem. Running PowerPoint MAC 2011 ver 14.2.3, when I import using pptx into Proclaim, even when I run it on the same computer, the fonts are enlarged off the screen. The service computer runs the same programs with the same fonts installed, so it is not a font problem. Using ppt it works just fine , except no signals, which I would love to use.

I notice others have indicated this as a problem, but I have not heard a viable solution yet.

First thing I noticed trying to bring in a sermon presentation. Same fonts, same machine, same everything until the powerpoint .pptx gets imported into proclaim where the wrong fonts are displayed and the formatting is way off. Sorry,, can't use this until there is a solution or a workaround.

Same problem with the .ppt version of the presentation. The formatting gets pushed around with bigger fonts.

Anthony - I feel your pain. I still have no resolution to the font problem and have seen no workable answer from LOGOS. Hopefully this thread is not dead and will be addressed. It is very frustrating to not be able to use the signal feature without having to edit each individual slide.

Hi Scott. We're having the same problem, but Pastor uploads his Powerpoint and uses Arial. I have Arial on my laptop (the one that we're using to play the presentation), so I'm not sure that is the cause of the issue (in our case at least). Pastor uses a Mac, I'm using a PC, perhaps that is the root of the problem?

Steven, I have worked with Proclaim ever since its release and have always had problems between Proclaim and Powerpoint. The solution I have come up with is to convert the pptx or ppt slides to jpg files. This is done within Powerpoint. Then upload them as image files. You lose the use of signals. I have wrestled with this for a couple of years, but Proclaim has not produced a solution that I know about. I wish they could, because we lose a lot of impact having to work around the problem.
