I have installed both Vyrso and Logos apps on my Android. Vyrso is billed as a better way to read Logos materials, but I don't see any difference. Does Vyrso contain additional features?
Laurie
part of the benefit is cheaper and newer books, because they don't have the extensive tagging of usual Logos books--although you will be able to use them on Logos. They will be for dedicated e-reading. I haven't used the vyrso app really, because my wife has the ipod touch. [:O]
Vryso is a stripped down version of the Logos reader (to present a simpler interface to the casual reader). There is no reason to use Vryso if you also use the Logos app (that I can see). They both read the same books, and Logos has more features. The one reason I can see having both is if you wanted to access two different Logos accounts on the same device (like if you and your spouse shared a tablet).
I also think Vyrso will make more sense when the 25,000+ trade books are available for purchase, and we can catch up on all of our Prelapsarian romance novels. I know I'm behind!
Thanks, these comments are helpful. It wasn't clear to me whether the claims were that Vyrso is a better reader than Logos, or better than other brand readers. I will probably uninstall Vyrso as an unnecessary duplication.
Laurie--wish I had the ipod for a quick comparison, but was wondering: is the interface for vyrso maybe a little cleaner (home page, etc) for quick reading launch? Or, is it easier to purchase and download from vyrso--ie, getting vyrso books that may not be advertised on Logos, so that having the vyrso app will allow you quicker access.
I left both apps on Angie's ipod. I'll have to check it out more closely, later.
Good question!
Todd, thanks for your straight-forward explaination. I had seen earlier discussions that were too detailed and confusing but you hit the nail on the head, at least for me -- maybe I'm simpleminded.... [:O]
In any event, I've downloaded Vryso on my iPad to use for supplemnetal reading and I use the Logos app with dual/split screens for more detailed and simultaneous reading of resources.... [8-|]
Don't forget Vyrso is offering a free Android - with one more week to enter the drawing:

Vyrso is a smaller application than Logos. The interface allows footnotes to be selected more easily, and without the distraction of accidentally bringing up a Word Study! - otherwise very similar to Logos for reading. It suits my wife's Galaxy Mini (lower resolution/smaller storage than my S model) very well.

thanks, Dave. that was the kind of thing I was wondering about, but I couldn't compare. I am keeping both on the ipod touch. I just grabbed it to check if you could buy vyrso books straight off of it. I guess you can't. is that related to Apple's grab for more percentage off sales?

I got it to read my Logos4 resources! But see http://vyrso.com/faq.php

i didn't see anything pertaining to sales. and clicking on "my account" took me to my logos account. I thought there were specific vyrso books to be ordered separately from (but compatible with) logos.
There are "specific" vyrso books, but the site isn't done yet. The only books currently available are the ones on the front page of the vyrso site: http://vyrso.com/And it does use the same Logos account you currently use--the account info is shared between the Logos and Vyrso sites.
On the other topic, Logos can't sell books through their iOS apps without giving Apple 30%. So we won't be seeing in-app purchases for Logos or Vyrso.
I just purchased a first generation IPAD cheaply online for about $100 to only use logos while on the go. The Logos app will not open on the old IOS. Apparently, the app is only functional on later IOS versions. So, I downloaded Vryso and it works great on the older IOS...no problems and I have the same library access as on Logos.
