Orthodox base packages are coming - but no dates yet
Orthodox base packages are coming.
In a personal email Gabe Martini stated his time line goal for Orthodox base packages BUT it is not for me [nor anyone else] to announce that date.
So keep the faith and have patience and pray.
[Also start saving up for them - Silver prices are around $1000]

I'd love to have Orthodox base packages ship tomorrow, but the reality is we need a lot more interest in our Orthodox products as well as several important resources to make it happen.
The best thing to help make Orthodox base packages a reality is to tell people who might be interested and at least introduce them to the Logos family. I've spent a lot of time with clergy demonstrating the software and they all love it, but there are some key resources, functionality, and other items that need to fall into place first.
And yes, keep the faith!

Well I would bet peoples purchases can help talk. I will not likely be getting an orthodox package (one never knows but no plans. I would encourage people to get the current Orthodox Library Builder (257 vols.) This will show a strong desire for the Orthodox packages. I would guess these might be a good down payment too as I would guess many of these books will be included, if not all in the base packages lowering the cost when the packages get released.

Gabe, for those of us interested in books (i.e., not language resources, datasets, etc.), should we be waiting for the base packages or buy the library builder?

The Library Builder and other Pre-Pub collections/bundles will be valuable for you. A lot of what we're working on is related to datasets, language resources, and so forth.

Very good point, Dan.
I am unsure if I can afford an Orthodox base package but I did get the Orthodox Library Builder. I imagine most of the books in a base package will be new to me so the price will be higher.
Gabe, Are we looking at a ship date before New Years?

I can't really say at this point. A lot of it depends on how long it takes to do some textual work, build the right resources, and even license some important and necessary content.
I want it to be exceptional, and not just a big collection of books, so we're taking the time to get it right the first time.

Should I continue to assume that the Library Builder will vanish when the base packages arrive?

That's likely. We'd retire the Library Builder to ship full base packages, and maybe have a series of Bundles for those who simply want some add-on resources.
But again, this is all hypothetical. [:)]

I hope not. Library Builders are smaller then base packages and may be of use to some that want a hint but are nor ready to dive in.
That is there will always be some that want to 'know' about a 'group' but don't want to 'join'.

We'll keep some Bundles around, so those not interested in a full base package will have a product to consider, don't worry!
