QuickStart videos not playing

The QuickStart for Logos Bible Software v.6 videos are not playing. Neither are the Logos Timesaving Tips videos that I had with v.5.
Anyone else having problems with viewing the videos once Logos 6 was installed?

I am not able to reproduce this [:(]
What operating system are you using? Are you running the minimum system requirements for Logos 6? Logos 6 requires Windows 7 SP1 or Mac OS X 10.9, or later.

I am running OS Yosemite X on a MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012), 2 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB, 500 GB SSD storage (APPLE SSD SM512E), with 61.18 GB available.

I am using the links in the Home Page to the videos and get Logos 5 information. I am using a Macbook Pro running Yosemite OS X 10.10.

I am using the latest MacBook Pro, with Yosemite ... I can't get the Quickstart videos to play either.

And just to clarify, I am trying to access the videos through my library. They are listed there, but do not play.

Quick start videos will list but won't play in Yosemite. Is there an easier way to find them other than search?

It's strange that they fixed this in the last beta release, and now it doesn't work.

Was the fix for Yosemite?

Yes it was for Yosemite in the last beta release. And both Mobile Ed Videos and QuickStart video worked just fine.

Can you provide a screen shot of what you see when attempting to play the videos?
Thank you,

I am also not able to play them from the Library. The length of the video shows as 00:00, and when I click it the spinning wheel shows for a time and then stops but the video won't play and still shows a zero duration. I am also on Yosemite on a mid-2013 Macbook Pro. I've put in a screenshot below, but unfortunately I couldn't capture the spinning wheel as it stopped before I was able to switch to Grab!

The video appears to load, but when I click on the play button nothing happens.

Let's see if I can insert that screen shot:

I see a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in the upper right of your screen. If you hover over it, what does it say is happening?
If Logos is still indexing, you may just need to wait until it's done.

Logos was indexing when I took the screen shot. But the problems with the videos not playing exist even when indexing is done and all items are synchronized and up to date.

Not sure what to suggest, but here are two things to try: 1)Exit and restart Logos; 2)If that doesn't fix it, shut down and restart your Mac.
If that doesn't do it, you may need to get a hold of tech support.

We are still having trouble reproducing this and would appreciate if you tried one more thing. If you open the panel menu (click on the resource cover on the top left) and choose 'Download all media'. Then after 10-15 minutes try playing again.

Todd,
Just downloaded all media again with no change in results. Still cannot expand or play video.

I've tried everything suggested so far, and still cannot play video.

I still can't get it to work either ... and I've tried everything that has been suggested.

Todd, this seems like it could be a codec issue. Does does Logos check to see if codecs are installed properly and up to date, when it installs? If not, might you suggest how users could check or update their codecs?

I too have downloaded the videos too, and they do not pay. I see a picture of probably the first image in the video, but clicking on the play arrow does nothing. Yosemite, Verbum 6.0 build 3700

Mark,
Have you tried to delete media from resource tab and download media again?

I'll try that and report back in about an hour. Thank you (and everyone else) for your efforts to resolve this!

This was the first feature that I tried to access. I hope the other features were better than this one!

Well, I've returned from a refreshing two-mile walk, enjoying the fragrant honeysuckle aroma in the Florida night air.
Assuming the media downloaded, I tried again to view the QuickStart videos. Sadly, no success.
BTW, in the resource panel for the QuickStart Videos I see the option to "Cancel Media Download" is available. That makes me wonder if the download might still be taking place (after 40 minutes?). But there is no other indication that the media is still downloading.

Weird. I only had a few minutes, but I played around with this setting and it seemed to have an impact. Only had time to try one. But it worked.

Eureka! Despite trying earlier what Lewis suggested, without success, I tried it again and it worked! Not only does the QuickStart videos now play, but also the Logos Tips videos that I had with Logos 5.
But the letter size settings in the resource panel has to be on the third setting from the left. Why, I do not understand; I can only say: "Curiouser and curiouser..."
Again, thanks to all who have worked on helping me and others with this!

I'm not one of the Mac developers, but that's very interesting. That position happens to be the default scaling size. I wonder if this is related to some of the other scaling problems that are being investigated. I suspect this will help find the problem. Thanks for letting us know.

Thanks for this additional information. When I get in tomorrow I'll see if we are able to reproduce with the extra information you have provided.

Count me as one who was having trouble with the videos on my Macbook Air.
As suggested I did the resize thing, and they started to work.

None of these suggestions work for me.
Very disappointing. Spent hundreds of dollars and the first thing I try to use doesn't work. Totally unacceptable.

Mine was already set on the third notch from the left. If I drag it to the fourth notch from the left, it works! If I go back to the third it does not.

Same for me. Videos not responding.

I have followed Todd & Lewis suggestions i.e. to go to the panel menu & click on the "Download all videos" and slide the panel bar to a lower level and my videos are now playing! Thanks guys. Hope everyone will get this to work! God bless you ALL!

FIGURED IT OUT
I had Program Scaling at 120%.
I changed it to 100% and then moved the slider for QuickStart "book" and the videos started. Just moving the slider, with Program Scaling at 120% didn't not work.

This is fixed in 6.0 SR-2. [:)]

Angela,
This is not fixed for me. When I expand the video the start and stop tab are on the top of the video and I only have about 1/2 inch to view video. This is not fixed for me it is broken!!

Can you please post up a screenshot of how the video looks for you? What is your Program Scaling set to?
There is a known issue for Mac that will be fixed in SR-3 that causes the video to become smaller whenever increasing program scaling.

Can you please post another screenshot with a full view of the Logos app too? That will help us see the issue more clearly.

Angela,
The previous post is full view. As you can see the space below is blank and only about 1/2 inch is visible
