logos 5 to 6 upgrade failed

The initial setup tried to install .net 4.5.1 upgrade to 4.5.2 and failed 'no such interface found' Help! cannot bypass this step and even tried download of MS .net 4.5.2 file which failed the same way.

Why does Logos NOT say this before I spent ££ - need a solution or money back and will sadly have to stick with Logos 5.

As for my MAC it required Maverick 10.9.0! You have to have a newish MAC

Have You tried going to the Control Panel and troubleshooting Windows Update problems?

Although I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than I will try to help you, this looks like a Microsoft problem rather than a Logos problem. Have you looked the error up on the Microsoft support site?

As I recall this means you don't have .net 4.52, a google search should bring up the download site on microsofts website.

Alternatively, and in the short term, you can browse to your logos installation folder, and find the .msi file, and run that. Though the next time it needs to update, you will need to download and install 4.52, or else manually install the .msi file.

In the mean time, if you have not found the solution, you can try and repair the 4.5.1 installation, then either install the 4.5.2 manually or attempt to install Logos once again.

Sometimes a simple re-boot fixes the issue too. If your computer has already tried to install 4.5.2, it may just need to be rebooted.

we don't really support MS problems here in the forums too much, you might find someone whose experienced this and knows the way out.

However MS has free technical support for windows update issues.

More details may help us resolve it.

4.5.2 only works on vista machines and newer. What version of windows do you use?

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that Windows NT?

You have windows 8 so it should work.

Here is a work around. Browse to c:\users\username\app data\local\Logos5\Data\tsdk1wak.aqh\UpdateManager\Installers

you will find a .msi file that you can double click on, and will install L6.

Then I would suggest getting in touch with MS and having them help you trouble shoot that out.

4.5.2 install fails are apparently not too uncommon.

I believe its logossetup.msi

I don't currently have the file on my computer. I'm trying to go off memory.

Some of the folders are hidden, so you may need to show hidden files and folders to get to the appropriate directory.

Any computer 5 years old or newer can support Mavericks (or Yosemite!)! A 5 year old computer isnt "newish." If it isnt "old" it is certainly "oldish!" Computers that can't run Mavericks make up less than 5% of Apple's market share.

I don't have a link right now, but Logos asked "who will this affect" and posted some reasons for the change in requirements. Essentially, If logos wanted to take advantage of some newer features, then they needed to make the change.

I used to get a new computer every 18-24 months... but that was before I got married... and boy 1... and boy 2... and boy 3 came along. Most recently, I purchased a Mac Mini (which I haven't even opened yet!). I bought a brand new 2012 model, because I want to crack it open and max out the ram (16 GB) and add an SSD. Those changes would have required me to purchase them from Apple at the start since the newer models aren't upgradable. I picked mine up for $450 at Best Buy.

Nope. Open box was even cheaper, and I sometimes go for those, but in this case I didnt want a floor model that had been in use for 2+ years.

Early morning in England.

Tried that and says that a later edition is already installed - and stops. Still can't find Logos5 folder and have the latest 5.2. On starting Logos get new files to be downloaded (upgrade to 6) and then tries to do .net upgrade and fails and stops install!

Apparently you need .net 4.5.1 installed before it can be upgraded to 4.5.2

Do you have that version on your machine? (I know you mentioned it earlier in the thread)

net repair and reinstall updates and found 3ogos4 user app data logosetup.msi file and it worked
