Sabbath School Quarterly
Martin, what are the chances that we could start getting the Sabbath School quarterly in Logos each quarter? I think that would be a really neat resource. Having the SS Quarterly integrated in with my Logos library would be amazing!
I've been playing around with the Personal Book Builder and I am pretty close to having the process down to make a really nice SS Quarterly as a Logos Resource.
Let me know if you are interested and need help with this, maybe we could work something out?

Timothy, are you aware of this group. Some of us study the Lesson in Logos via personal book. https://faithlife.com/adult-bible-study-guide/activity

Lynden, no I hadn't noticed that. Wow! I just loaded all 4 quarters into my Logos library for 2014, this is amazing!
Thanks so much for sharing!

Hi
A few people have expressed the desire to get the SS Quarterly supplied by Logos and hence could be also on a tablet.
The only other Bible Study Quarterly that I know of on Logos is the yearly edition of the Standard Lesson Commentary. At present, the SDA church does produce the lessons far enough ahead for the UK to be able to produce the Standard and Teachers adult quarterly only in 6 months versions.
Cost wise I envisage that it is more cost effective to produce 6 monthly versions or preferably 12 monthly versions on Logos.
How far ahead the Logos version would have to be marketed and them produced is a matter of speculation but clearly to do either a 6 monthly or 12 monthly version could need major changes in lead in times by the G.C. Sabbath School committee.0 -
That all depends upon what the other lines of business are sending through Content Production. Getting a current SSQ would be an interesting challenge--both its concurrent publishing (with all the tagging that goes into a Faithlife product) and the marketing of it (Pre-pubbing) would be quite a challenge. There would probably need to be some kind of subscription arrangement that we don't have in place yet.
It will be much easier to do the archives of the SSQ--assuming we can get licensing to do such.

Martin, how about having the user pay for the full year, and then getting it upon release. It is worth a try.

That's a creative idea, Lynden. Whether that's workable the other dynamics involved we will see. I'm thinking of licensing complexities as well as adequate turnaround time for a resource like this to be tagged in the Logos ecyosystem. But we'll try.

How about posting back numbers of Adult Bible Study Guides. These are rich resources for sermon ideas, baptismal classes, general study etc. I have many years filed in my personal library and use them all the time. - Jim Zackrison

These are all great. I was referring to what used to be called the Sabbath School Quarterly

Jim, greetings to a longtime colleague, now retired and working as SDA product manager for Logos Bible Software (Faithlife Corp. now).
Your suggestion to get back issues of the SSQ into Logos is something those of us on this forum have discussed, and it's on my short list of acquisitions. I would love to have your wisdom and support on this. Given the turmoil of the transition in our publishing, who would be the best person to contact. Our friend Clifford doesn't control the copyright--do you know who does? Would it be the SS Department of the GC?

Hi Marti: The person to contact is Jerry Thomas at the PPPA. If you need any more help, I can make some contacts at the GC. Cliff's office is independent from the Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Department. It is directly under ADCOM. - Jim

It would be great if you could make some contacts at the GC to bolster my initiative with Jerry Thomas. Perhaps together we can make this happen. (At the GC Sabbath School Department, Gary Swanson at the GC has been friendly to Logos SDA.)

I will talk with Gary and make some contacts in the administration. I'll keep you posted. ADCOM owns the copyright, so Jerry Thomas may send you back there anyway. - Jim
