A classic on the Roman Mass!
I suggest The Mass of the Roman Rite by Joseph Jungmann, SJ
IMHO it's the go-to book on liturgical history in the Catholic Church.

It's something of a classic. A bit out of date, but a classic.

I got the dead-tree version of this for Christmas and have not been able to put it down (I even brought the first volume with me to work...). These volumes are so incredible. My regret is that I can't click on the footnotes to follow the citations that interest me. But this is such a good book so far.
