Rendering of Search results slow to very slow

I am not sure whether to report this, Phil says report slowness, known issues says functions not optimized, but here goes

The rendering of search results is

  • slow when in verse mode and
  • extremely slow in grid mode (about 1/2 as fast as in alligned mode)
  • slow in alligned mode

    2. What did you search for?
    3. In how many Bibles? Just the ESV? Top Bibles? All Bibles?
    4. Can you give more objective descriptors? For example, does slow = 5 seconds and extremely slow = 30 seconds?

    It is slower than expected for me as well. 

    1. 2007 MacBook Pro - Intel Core 2 Duo 2.6 ghz, 4g ram, NVidia GeForce 8600M currently running Win 7 inside VMWare Fusion.
    2. Bible search for the word God
    3. Search All Passages in ESV
    4. Slow in this case means 5.75 seconds for the search. Grid results are then slow to render, not super slow, but I have no time estimate. I would expect it to pop up results quite quickly but it renders them one at a time. There was a discussion recently about the slow results in Bible Speed Search in Logos for Mac. The rendering speed of this reminds me of the speed for the Mac version. 

    Of the three Bible search results options, Grid is by far the slowest. Verses and even Aligned pop up fairly quickly. 

    Note that subsequent searches have gone faster (2.27 for love, 2.07 for a reattempt of God, 0.99 for Melchizedek) but actually rendering results in Grid view is always slow.

    Sorry for the missing information.

    1.  See attached
    2. Searched for John in the whole bible NASB
    3. NASB, 1 bible
    4. Search took 3.82 seconds to search and 11 second to render the screen on my monitor, 17 verses when the allignment is set to verse.
    5. Search took  .63 seconds to search and a total of 28 seconds to render the first screen of information when the allignment is set to grid (38 lines of verses)
    6. Search took 2.89 seconds to search and a total of 19 seconds to render the first screen of inforamtion when the allignment is set to align (38 lines of verses)
