Divine Conduct or The Mystery of Providence
For L3 users, I have created a PBB resource of John Flavel's book, Divine Conduct or The Mystery of Providence. You can get it over at www.stilltruth.com.

Hi Bill,
If you put it into a folder in your L3 library that's included in your resource paths, it'll automatically be discovered in L3.
Books built with the Personal Book Builder (PBB) aren't yet compatible with L4.
There are over 600 PBB books (aka PBBs) on Tom Black's site (www.stilltruth.com). Yes, it's the Tom Black who's an MVP on this forum. He's a great brother in Christ to this community.
Grace & Peace,

I am able to find these resources in my search engine for 3 ? Is it like any other book, can I follow the references?
Thanks for the help...
ooh btw can I download all the books at once or do I have to do it one at a time (from the website)

On L3, the resource folder is usually: C:\Program Files (x86)\Libronix DLS\Resources
It isn't hidden.
On mine, I've set up a PBB subdirectory under Resources, so I didn't have to manage Libronix resources & user created resources all in the same folder.
Whether you can download all at once, I'll defer to others. There used to be a utility that helped us manage (& do that). It'd even scan for new ones. But last I knew it wasn't working any more. If it is working, that'd be a lot easier...
Tom? any such utility still exist?
Grace & Peace,
Bill

Thank you guys for these posts. I have been researching the public domain material that is available, wow I have been really missing out. I guess I need to buy the builder to build up my library with the public domain stuff... I am pretty new to this so forgive my lack of knowledge.. and sorry if someone else posted the answer on another post

I can't wait for PBB to be implemented for L4. I'd never tried it out in L3, but I will definitely be building some personal books (hopefully some to share with others) once I can do it in L4.

I have created about 50 PBBs for L3. There was a learning curve but now I have the process down. There are three main parts to creating a PBB: (1) acquire and proof/correct the text; (2) tag the text for PBB (I typically only add tags for the Bible verses and then add page markers); and (3) compile it into a PBB.
I am hoping that L4 will be able to work with the resources I have already created without having to redo all the work I did to make the resources work for L3.

Bill, Is it possible to make links within a PBB jump to other parts of that PBB? For example a Table of Contents at the beginning of a book? The only one I've downloaded to take a look at what they look like in Logos (the 3 volume work "The Creeds of Christendom" by Philip Schaff) was somewhat disappointing because it didn't have a dynamically linked TOC, and I could only see 7 pages worth of text in each of the volumes even though there should have been hundreds. I know we should probably take this discussion off to the Logos 3 forum since it's no longer on topic, but since you've already posted here I thought you'd notice my question better if I replied to you here.
Have you made your 50 PBBs available online somewhere? I've just begun to explore the great collection at http://www.stilltruth.com/page/libronix_pbb_files. I'm definitely the type of person who will want to do some of these myself; meticulous about editing, etc. I presume you do an exhaustive search to make sure nobody else has done that book first before you spend your time on it? And what about seeking out whether you can have permission to use the text? For example if I find that someone has posted the entire contents of their book online as a free e-book (e.g., The Creed: Beliefs that Matter (by Michael Bauman), at http://www.michaelbauman.com/theology.htm), am I at liberty to turn that into a PBB for my own personal use? What about sharing it with others (presumably I'd need to get the author's permission before doing the latter, and he'd probably want to be the one to make it available as a PBB from his own website).

Logos supplies the files forum for this purpose. There are other sites provided by individuals - most noteably stilltruth and the Stone-Campbell site.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

StillTruth has a program called "PBB Updater"...it is a marvelous tool that will search that site's resources and let you download all of them...as well as keep you up to date (manual pulls). Since I put my Logos3 books in a different folder structure, I have to manually copy new downloads over. I'm deeply appreciative of the folks who take the time to share public domain content with the rest of us...leeches... ;-)

"PBB Updater"...
Is it working again? When I last tried to use it, it was broken... I ended up uninstalling it. But I sure miss it! It not only organized but kept me up to date with the latest... new ones & old ones.
Missing it...
So..... Is it working again?
Vista 64...

I just used it the other day and it worked OK, but then I haven't updated it in a while - it's version 2.0.2.0.

Rosie,
All of my PBBs are stored at Stilltruth. The authors whose books I have created PBBs for are Candlish, Hengstenberg, Fairbairn, Machen, Vos, among others.
Before I create a PBB, I make sure it doesn't yet exist as a PBB or that Logos hasn't created a commercial version of it. I also check the copyright status.
Most of my PBBs have a TOC at the beginning of the book that links to the appropriate section.

Hi Bill - did you get this to work OK? I tried the new 2.1, the beta, and the old one on my laptop and I can't get any of them to work there. No contact with StillTruth at all for one thing.

Alex,
For the record, I do not run Stilltruth; I only use it to post PBBs. Tom Black runs the site.
Also, PBB updater was created by another user of the site. I think you'll need to get in contact with him to discuss issues with it.
