Has anyone had a problem with spell check not functioning properly? From yesterday it doesn't operate except with text copied and pasted from a Bible or book. The program settings are at 'Yes' for checking while typing.
Thanks
Aaron
I am not aware of any recent change in spell checking's functionality. Can you please provide some more context to the issue you are seeing? Is this when you are taking notes?
If you could take a screencast (Jing is a great tool to do so: http://www.techsmith.com/download/jing/) or screenshot of the issue occurring, that would be very helpful in tracking down what is occurring.
Thanks!
Chris thanks for replying.
Below is a screenshot of notes. 'Workers', 'despaired' & 'sentence' are spelled wrong in the first paragraph and 'supplications' in the third but ignored by spell check whereas when I pasted text from the NET and changed three of the words spell check worked.
For clarification: You are saying that "pasted" text does NOT apply spell checking, but when you type, spelling IS checked, right? Or no?
Aaron, can you get one other piece of information for me? If you highlight "Paul and his fellow woskers" and click the globe icon in the toolbar, what language is selected? Can you also check the language for some of the text you pasted where spell-checking worked (say "if the entence of death")?
No the opposite. When I type spell check is not working, but if I copy and paste from a Bible or book it does work on the pasted text even if I don't change it. I copied and pasted a paragraph from Lenski yesterday and immediately spell check underlined unrecognized words.
Chris
The language is British English and the pasted text shows as U.S. English. Because of your question I highlighted the text under British English and changed it to U.S. English and spell check is working! Being on the 'other side of the pond' naturally we will choose British English, but maybe that's not going to work? Surely Logos wouldn't have a built in bias!? (Just joking).
Please see https://community.logos.com/forums/p/98270/678755.aspx for an earlier discussion on this.
Support for British English isn't there yet.
Graham
Graham is correct. At launch we decided to ship with just U.S. English and Spanish. We will be adding support for other languages soon, but unfortunately I cannot provide a solid date when that will be available publicly at this point. Thank you for your patience.
Chris and Graham
Thanks for your help. There had to be a simple explanation.
I had searched the forum and in Google about the issue before posting, but didn't see anything about those previous threads.
I was just thinking this. It's certainly needed to make it work properly for those using Logos in Britain and Ireland.

It's not just Britain and Ireland — it's basically the whole English speaking world other than America.
I see [:(] that Notes still doesn't support International English (what would be called British English). Is this even planned?
In fact while using Notes spell checking doesn't seem to work no matter what I do. Only choosing Spanish (es-mx) underlined words. If I did a mix of International & American English (recognise + color) American English didn't pick up on "recognise".
Is spell checking meant to be working fully and consistently?
I know this is an old thread but the situation seems to persist.
Are there any plans for adding other language support to the Notes spell check function?
Thanks, Graham
