This is a known problem - see https://community.logos.com/forums/t/99669.aspx for one of the discussions of this.
Faithlife have advised that they have fixed it on internal builds but I'm not sure when it will slip
Turning off the Visual Filter "Link to Open Panels" has been suggested as a temporary workaround.

The fix was mentioned in the latest beta release notes: https://wiki.logos.com/Logos_6.1_Beta_4
Disclaimer: I am not recommending getting the beta to fix a bug, but it does provide some clue as to when users on the stable channel should see the fix. Also of note, I have not yet seen any beta users indicate whether or not the fix resolved their specific issue with making selections.

THIS issue, which may or may not be related, is not fixed.

Thank you Alan for the reply, but this is the worst bug i've seen so far. I cant do any studies since I cant highlight the text properly. In my opinion it should be fixed ASAP. As of now, I put desktop Logos to rest, until its updated. I just cant smoothly study anymore, its useless.

Does turning off the Visual Filter I suggested above help?

The fix is in the latest beta already and should be in the stable product soon.
For users on the stable channel dealing with this issue in the meantime, I can only recommend following the workarounds of disabling visual filters ("links to open panels" has been a common offender for many users) and the reverse interlinear pane.

Thank you Graham and Alan for your input. For me to disable all visual filters means to turn of all major Logos features and use it as e-sword. I hope the fix will come soon to stable channels.

Sorry, I was probably not specific enough. It is not every visual filter that has proven problematic with this bug. I suggest first turning off "Links to open panels" visual filter and the reverse interlinear pane. These are far and away the main offenders in causing the selection bug.
In fact, the name of this filter is a little misleading and I fear people have over applied it. In 6.2 we will be renaming it to "Emphasize citations to open panels" as that better-reflects what it does and doesn't share terminology with other popular features like panel link sets.

I set my update channel to beta, downloaded an update and reset update channel to default. It works like a charm. Will wait until next stable update but at least for now selecting text works. It seems to me that current beta has less flaws than a stable one.

If you find that this iteration of the release is stable for you then you might like to stick with it. However if you uncover other (unrelated or otherwise misbehaviour) you may need work your way through the improvement process by downloading successive beta offerings.
Keep an eye on the Beta forum for releases and the release notes. You can make a change to the download channel at any time to pick up the latest version.
You will miss out on any improvement to the stable release provided by service releases.
If you get a chance install the stable release on another device – I keep mine on a laptop.

Thank you Mike for your suggestion. I hope other bugs would not be as bad as selecting the text. My study always involves around the text, inproper selection was really irritating me that's why my mood was pretty frustrating. But as of now, I am happy [:)]

Yes, Logos 6.1 has been entirely a bugfix and performance improvement release. They are playing catch-up from quite a backlog. Check out the beta release notes to see all the bugs they've fixed so far. So you should find it stabler than most. Of course if you do run into a bug, please report it on the forums, so that it can get fixed in this beta cycle before the next stable release.
Glad you're happy now with the selection problem fixed.
