I get all the issues with 4.0 SR-7!
EDIT:
The Cascadia Syntax Graphs resources show the "Resource Missing" message.

Thanks for the detective work; I would have to guess it's a problem with the license server (which I'll report when I get in on Monday).
(one report using Lexham)
That would be Lexham Syntax Graphs (LexhamSGGNT) and not the Lexham Syntactic GNT set.
Anyone with Lexham Syntax Graphs resources should hide them as they were replaced by Cascadia Syntax Graphs, and the problems with Cascadia will be fixed by Logos.
David, I have now tried this twice (ie to "hide" the 2 files) by opening two tabs: Library & Program Settings.
Crashes and requests for "Error Reporting" happened BOTH times as I attempted to drag these two files from the Library Window to the Hidden Resources Window.

I'm unable to reproduce a problem with expiring licenses when downloading the licenses fresh from our server. Please delete your %LOCALAPPDATA%\Logos4\Data\...\LicenseManager\Licenses.dat file, and Sign In to the program (while connected to the Internet). It should detect that the licenses are missing and download a new copy. You should see that Biblical P/P/T, reverse interlinears, and all other beta resources are fully unlocked.
(If this does fix the problem, we can program our server to force a fresh license download, and we'll also know that this is a workaround in the meantime.)
Bradley the deleting the license file worked for me...
Bradley, you're beautiful. That worked perfectly.
Worked for me too!
Thanks Bradley,
Worked for me too. Get all my functionality back without having to change the date.
Woo-hoo!
Bradley, to the rescue again!!! [:D]
Deleted the license file and it worked fine for me I seem to be fully functional once again.
Q: The NLT Rev Int doesn't seem to be working (don't use it much so not an issue), anyone else having a problem?
BTW: Happy New Year folks...
Thanks Brad. Problem fixed, and Cascadia no longer crashes.
Thanks.
Hi Bradley
Followed advice and all greyed out ites apart from one - pronunciation - are OK. How do rectify the
odd one out. Thanks, Gerald

Thanks, Bradley! All my problems are cleared up, too. I was a beta tester...
Bradley,
I utlilized your fix and it worked for me as well. Before, I had set my computer date back to Dec. 1 and obtained all my functionality. I deleted my license file, reset my date and have all my functionality again. Thanks for the fix.

I guess we're all officially in a beta test recovery group, now. [:D]
That fixed the NASB RI problem for me. Thanks.
Worked for me, too.
Woo. And hoo.
Thanks Bradley.
Hi Bradley,
The fix worked on one computer for me.
However, I had to install L4 on a new computer yesterday. I followed the steps in the Wiki (option 2) to copy from the old machine to the new one. The new installation is abnormal in two ways:
a) Biblical P/P/T are greyed out.
b) 10 resources are missing (library count = 791 instead of 801). e.g. 1000 Images does not even show up in the Library.
I've tried the following steps to try to resolve the problem:
- Renamed Library.dat so that L4 recreates it (tried this twice);
- Ran "update now";
- Ran "scan c:\Users\......\Resources" and restarted L4.
None of these steps resolved the lost resources and lost BP/P/T tools for me. Can you please help?
Thanks!
Peter
Try this one. It may, or may not help, but you never now: type update resources in the command bar of Logos4. Note that this will take several minutes to run as it will look at all your resources and internal file dates/versions and compare them with the server files and dates/versions. Then it will download what it needs or tell you there is nothing to download.
If that doesn't work, it's possible that the index is the problem. This solution will take a lot longer, and there are still no guarantees. Type rebuild index in the command bar of Logos4. This is not the same as deleting your Library.dat file. I think it does the same thing as deleting the files in the index subdirectory, another MVP disagrees (I'd like to know for sure who's right, BTW). Note that this can take several hours, although indexing times have improved dramatically since L4 was first released - and very dramatically compared to the pre-release beta days.

Provided your access to resources has been fully restored (per this thread), try deleting the following files from your \Resources folder:-
LexhamSGGNT.lbxclv and LexSGGlossary.logos4 together with LexhamSGGNT.lbssyn.
The last is the syntax database.
Please delete your %LOCALAPPDATA%\Logos4\Data\...\LicenseManager\Licenses.dat file, and Sign In to the program (while connected to the Internet). It should detect that the licenses are missing and download a new copy.
would someone be kind enough to explain how & where i should go to have my license deleted. Thanks for the help.
Ted
Ted,
Windows 7:
C:\users\yourname\appdata\local\logos4\data\zitreler.tpg\licensemanager\licenses.dat
The folder in bold won't have the same numbers as mine.
Sorry, i should have stated Bob i am using window xp
then it should be easier:
C:\Program Files\Logos4
and then the path is the same.
Ted, then it should be easier: C:\Program Files\Logos4 and then the path is the same.
Thanks Bob.
Bob,
I'm fairly sure that logos does NOT use the standard windows xp install location. Rather: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos4
An absolutely insane decision.
whoops....Damian..you're right...sorry Ted.
I'd have to agree...weird decision.

Bradley, two days ago I confirmed the "expiring licence/new year" date issue in my Laptop Windows 7 whilst off-line. I just went online for the first time since Dec 22nd and everything was OK, no need for the workaround.
My question is WHY, what is the real issue? Was it the Licence Server?
EDIT 1: Also, I haven't done any of the resource and software downloads - still on 4.0a RC1.
EDIT 2: Updated L4 on Laptop Win 7 to 4.0a SR-2 using web link and all is still OK.
EDIT 3: Experieced the "expiring licence/new year" date issue in my Desktop Windows 7 (4.0 SR-7) whilst off-line. When I went online for the first time since Dec 22nd everything was OK, no need for the workaround! Now I'm going to update and download resources (848.5 MB).

Thanks Damian & Bob. Damian you were right. Now what should i delete? Every thing in the Logos 4 folder (Date, documents, install, shared, system, users,Logos 4)
NO! Just drill down to ...Data\...\LicenseManager\Licenses.dat and delete that file.
And for someone like me who never did this download that caused the issue but was a beta tester, can I just wait for the next release ??? and avoid having to delete some files ???
Joan, it's only one file and it doesn't cause any problems (no re-indexing or anything). I didn't even have to sign in again!
Ted, NO! Just drill down to ...Data\...\LicenseManager\Licenses.dat and delete that file.
Big thanks - You are a star, i finally got it![Y]
Damian,
The "someone like me" part refers to others who don't participate in the forums for good reasons--will the next update or release fix this problem?

Richard - I tried the "update resources" command last night and it returned with "No updates".
Bradley - Should I go ahead with a reindex? Will that help with my situation? Or should I call Support?

You used an unsupported method to install, so Tech Support may not be very sympathetic!
A fairly quick fix might be to delete ResourceManager.db from the Logos4\Data\{random}\ResourceManager folder and restart L4, but you will lose any Hidden Resources!
Otherwise, completely uninstall L4 (incl. Prequisites) and install using Method 3 from http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers
SR-2 is now "doing a full re-index because the existing index seems to have been corrupted", which is nonsense as the index (with supplemental) was perfectly OK for 4.0 SR-7. Time to go to bed!
EDIT: Indexing now complete and all resources appear to be accessible (no issue with ex-beta resources!).
Bradley, I'm going to install the download on Laptop with 4.0 SR-7 and 4.0a SR-2 but is there any metric I can provide beforehand that will assist in assessing what may be a "corrupted index" (both are fully functional). I'm concerned because my Desktop installation is my "Master" and it has never been subject to a "quick" install.
Hi Dave,
Thanks for the pointer. I'll try that tonight. I'll probably rename it or move it somewhere rather than physically deleting it.
Have you or others had experience going through this step and had success? Can you point me to a previous thread that might have discussed this as a fix? I tried searching the forums for "ResourceManager.db" and couldn't find any meaningful mention of this approach.
Thanks again.

David - I have been able to get rid of all of these files from the resource drwer. But the Lexham Syntax Graphs -- is still "appearing" in the Library (but is "ghosted").And when it is clicked on the whole program crashes to the "let's all tell M$ about our little problem" etc.
Thanks
Steve
ps. I also had to delete the licence file from my other machine, a laptop, because the three "Biblical" windows were grayed out. .
But I also got an unrelated surprise (My tower has always been a "beta" machine) - but not the laptop -- yet after I turned on and off the laptop it is now also running 4.0a SR2
David, I've finally been able to "clean" the laptop of threse three files. Took about 3 restarts.
But original 'tower" still claims to see the LexhamSGGnt etc even though there are NO resources files in its drawer (nor are there any in the L3 resource drawer anymore.
also, both Libraries claim to have the same amount of resources, even though there is the extra "ghosted" copy of LexhamSGGnt in the "tower" computers Library.
(which, if clicked upon, still "crashes' the machine to M$ error report).
Strange

Logos need to handle this type of resource "change" better. It demonstrates that they do not remove resources, but we've had many hassles getting rid of the issues associated with the LexhamSGGNT eg. I had to hide them before the beta licence expired; what happens if I unhide them? And they remain in \ResourceManager\Downloaded folders!
This might be because the index still includes them. Have you rebuilt your index since deleting them?

Sorry, rename is a better option. Yes, many have had success deleting/renaming ResourceManager.db when it was necessary, usually for Method 1 at http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers. It is sometimes needed for Method 2; see http://community.logos.com/forums/p/8771/70228.aspx
Not really, there were a couple of "small" indexing sessions, but I think it was for either re-built files or for my having "hidden" some other resources.
I don't mind doing it on the 2 core laptop (which does not need it) but my problem is on the slower 1 core tower. I really do not want to have to index it!
Thanks Richard.

Steve, please help us by including the previous context to which you are responding - just hit the "Quote" button to include it.
Take your time and index when you need to!
This resolved my problems too!
All the best!
