Mouse sensitivity

We have considerable difficulty advancing slides using a mouse. Often, more than one to several slides are advanced at once with only one click of the mouse. This distracts the congregation. Advancing with the right arrow on the keyboard prevents this problem most, but not all of the time. How can this be fixed? It is rather problematic.

Have you tried with a different mouse? Sometimes the micro switches get so that they have what seems to be a bit of a bounce i.e. they register two clicks instead of one. It is something to do with dirt on the contacts.

I have not tried a new mouse because we do not have a similar problem with any other software. Any other suggestions?

Sorry Bob - If the suggestions in the link don't help then I am at a loss. I use either a trackpad, the keyboard or the remote app myself. I do know that you do have to be pretty sharp on the keyboard to avoid the repeat cutting in.

If I accidentally hold down the left key arrow key while typing my cursor ends up back there somewhere.

If I accidentally hold down the right arrow key in proclaim my service finishes a lot earlier than I planned.

I have the same problem using the mouse to click on the advance arrow in Proclaim and to a lesser extent when I press the arrow buttons on the keyboard. I have been advised very recently to slow down the character repeat rate for the keyboard. If you google this you should get a link to microsoft advice on how to do it. I'm not sure whether this also affects the repeat rate when using the mouse, but I think it might. I've not yet tested this out but am intending to do so next time I run a Proclaim presentation.

I was aware of the keyboard repeat rate and will try that, but I am also unfamiliar with wither the same kind of setting is available for the mouse. However, for the mouse, I am still left with the question, Why would it be a problem in Proclaim and not in any other software?
