Minimizing Proclaim

Hey guys,

This past Sunday things were going as usual, everything and everyone was in place ready to begin the service. Proclaim did what i was told flawlessly and the countdown starts perfectly on time.

Afterwards, our A/V guy minimized proclaim to close Spotify and Proclaim then stopped playing all audio and video from there on through the service. We even had to restart the computer because Proclaim wouldn't re-open after we closed it.

Any help would be great!

I have not been able to reproduce this issue. If you could post logs after this happened, that would be great. If you have restarted Proclaim, please try and reproduce the issue and send logs, as the logs reset when restarting the app.

Also, which presentation was this affecting? I would like to take a look.

First time loading a log file so let me know if this is right!

1) Per your instruction, I was going to try and reproduce the issue but the countdown video wouldn't even play. I'll load another countdown video and send the following log file if the problem continues.

2) It was the "February 22nd" presentation.

Had to close Proclaim since it was not responding.

I brought Proclaim back up and loaded another countdown video; minimized it while it was playing, the video stopped. All audio controlled by Proclaim isn't working anymore. here's the log:

When you say you loaded a video, were you adding a countdown video from the Media Browser (Pro Media) or are you uploading your own video? Also, which OS and OS version is this occurring on?

I was trying to load slides for this Sunday and Proclaim stopped working altogether...a screen popped up and said "a problem caused the current program to stop working correctly".

Yes, I added countdown videos from Proclaim's (pro-media) media browser.

Working with Windows 7pro

(2TB hard drive, 12 GB ram)

Still cannot reproduce the issue of the video stopping. I did the following:

Open presentation
Go on air and navigate to video
minimize main window of Proclaim

At this point, the video is still playing and I can still interact with Proclaim. Am I missing a step? Do you mind posting a Screencast of you reproducing the issue (Can be done using Jing). While I am investigating, you could also try calling customer service at 800-875-6467.

What you're doing sounds correct! I've also re-downloaded Proclaim from the main website. Also made sure windows is up to date. Still keeps freezing...I'll try Jing though!

Based on the log file it looks like the application is running out of memory. This is usually related to video playback and can be caused by various video driver issues. Please try the workaround described here.

I also have another question.

Concerning audio added to song slides-is there a way to scrub the audio to a certain point?

Say our praise team needs to practice a certain part of a song; but they only need to go over the chorus. Does Proclaim have the potential to fast-forward/rewind audio like this?

Hi, I'm having the same issue with videos not playing after proclaim has been minimized. I understand that disabling hardware acceleration fixes the issue, however I have a dedicated graphics card and when I disable H/A the videos and transitions aren't nearly as smooth as when using H/A.

Here's how you can re-create the issue, make sure H/A is enabled on startup.

Go on air and navigate to a video or a song with a motion background.

Minimize proclaim. The video should freeze, and upon restoring proclaim, you can change slides but the video remains frozen.

At this point, closing proclaim will leave a lingering proclaim.exe process and proclaim can not be restarted until that processed is ended in task manager.

To reiterate, we need H/A enabled for smoother graphics and transitions, but that causes the video to freeze when minimizing the window. It took me a few weeks to realize what was causing our videos not to play. I hope the dev team can get an update out to fix this bug pretty soon.

Sorry for the disruption this is causing you. We've been working this past week on trying to figure out a resolution. We have a simple repro of the Windows Media Player issue and have submitted it to Microsoft. In the meantime we're researching other Windows video playback solutions. Stable video playback on Windows is a priority for Proclaim and I hope to have a solution soon.
