Repeatable Crash on Highlight

This one is easy to reproduce ... press to highlight (Select) a word. When the menu appears (Copy ... Note), select Highlight. Bang!

I am not sure what note file/style is the default. The settings say 'Palette-specific Note Document' ... but do not seem to suggest default palette ... and obviously the highlight menu itself causes the crash.

The crashing seems to affect at least two resources including the ESV.

The note menu option works as normal.

BTW.

What was slightly harder is to find the logging info, or even help about the logging info for the iOS app.

I think that my logs are attached ... they may not be the correct ones though ... emailed from within the app itself. I seem to have vague recollections that there are crash logs to be found after the app has synced with iTunes ... but I cannot find the post I saw that in!

    Hi Martin

Just to say that I can't reproduce it following your steps in the ESV.

Have you tried redownloading the resource?

    Hi.

I have just reinstalled Logos (yet again ... it does not seem that long since I last had to re-install). That seems to have cured the highlighting issue. [:D]

My concern is once again the appallingly slow download of resources. Having logged on, I have no indicator to suggest that any resources are being downloaded at all. This time I remembered to download Vyrso so as not to get duplicate devices ... my desktop app is showing only one iPad [:)] ... with 753 resources allocated to it. After some minutes of sitting there ... it has downloaded the grand total of Zero resources.[:^)]

Restarting the app and I now see a spinning indicator next to the WiFi strength indicator ... and the message 'Checking for Updates ... ' The app is currently unresponsive so whilst 'Checking' it does not allow any other action ... so far for several  minutes. I have switched to another app (Safari) and then back to Logos ... 3 ... 2... 1... Crash!

Attempt 3 ... The App is restarted and at last some resurrect are starting to appear. The status indicator seems to have two different patterns ... most of the time it is made up of multiple parallel lines in a circle ... once it became two arrows chasing each other. I do not know what this signifies ...

I have discovered that I can use the Local: term in the library to see what has downloaded ... and swipe downwards to show the count (hidden for some reason) but that this count is not dynamic ... so that I have to change the term (local: g), searching, and then returning to local: by deleting the g and searching again, swipe again. This count, together with the desktop library term of 'Device:iPad' is better than nothing I suppose ... but I would have thought that it should not have to be so difficult to see the status of the library and the status of a download.

BTW. I have found Dave Dunkin's instructions on reporting a crash (Thanks Dave) ... I should have used my eyes first rather than resorting to Google.[:$]

49 assorted crash logs presumably including the two different crashes today:

    That is by design.

For clarification: You weren't actively downloading resources when you switched to another app, were you? (you can't do that).

I do not know what was happening ... the progress indicator was stating ... but the app itself spent many minutes not responding ...

Using other apps may pause downloading but returning to the app should result in the download continuing from wherever it left off ... it should certainly not crash within three seconds.

I understand that iOS apps should be always in a state where they can be suspended and restarted due to the user switching apps without any loss of function.

Ideal isn't always real. I don't think you can switch between apps while downloading in logos. Are you one of the forum members with large amounts of downloads? What about note documents (number and size)?
