Visual Markups in Beta?
Is it gone?
SUGGESTION: When a text is highlighted, I would love to be able to select the visual markup palette and option to use right out of the context menu. Visual markup is one my most-used features and I would love to see some improved functionality on this in Logos 4

Jacob,
there not gone; just waaaayyy different; you go to "File>New>visual filter"
they are now based on a search...ugh....either I don't understand how wonderful it is or it's a definite step down from v3

I believe Bob posted other places that highlighting is coming in a 4.X release.

From Bob's Post:
Try a Visual Filter from File > New. You can type words, or put in morph patterns, like @VFA. (The auto-complete helper for morph isn't working in Visual Filter yet, but you can use Search > Morph to create @ codes using the helper and copy them in.)

Visual Filters and Visual Markups are different things.. this is not good, a Pradis looking interface, no visual markups, no sentence diagrammer, no spearate reveser interlinear resources... things that were used to sell 3.0 are going to be missing from the opening night of 4.0.....maybe if I could get the program to work I might get a better impression of it, but at the moment I'm not liking what I am seeing or hearing....search speed and cloud computing (for which I have not use) are not going to win me over....

Visual filter was present in v3. Visual filter is different than visual markups. Visual markups was the underline, highlight, etc feature.
I would use it as I would read a book in Libronix v3 and then when I was done I could just jump from highlihgt to highlight to review the main points of the book. Also, when jumping around in a bunch of commentaries on a verse, the highlihgt was effective at showing the unique contributions of each.
I really hope this feature is not lost, or I will find myself hanging out in v 3 a whole lot.

I never liked the v3 markups since they could not be printed and did not transfer from bible to bible... maybe the v4 (and Mac) version will fix those shortcomings.
With the new search visual filters, you can now apply your markups to multiple resources at a time. So, for example, you could apply a particular markup to all of the occurrences of faith in all of your Bibles. Or, you could apply a particular markup to all of the occurrences of πίστις in all of your Greek Bibles and English Bibles with reverse interlinears.
Does that meet your desire for transferring them from Bible to Bible?

It's one of my most used features too. I often point to it as one of the reasons I use Logos to read topical books: so that I can easily mark them up and reference them later. The lack of visual markup isn't mentioned in the Beta 1 release notes as a major missing feature. Should it be?

Visual markups: Is there a possibility to highlight and mark text during reading the bible and books etc... like version 3? I do hope this is in version 4 as this is a key feature for me with the different resources that I have.

I really hope that they will be back very soon. It 's one of the features I use most for reading sermons and articles in Logos-format!
