I am curious to know what video formats are supported. I cannot use flv files. And as of the last update I can no longer use mp4. Any help would be appreciated
Flv has never been supported but MP4 is our preferred format. What happens when you try to use an mp4 video? Are you on Windows or Mac?
We do support other vide formats like Mov, Avi, Wmv, but they will be transcoded to Mp4 in order to ensure playback support on all platforms.
I was having the same issue with .mp4 with the update. However, I found the difference. Before the update, I was able to play a video file with this file name: Blessed Are The Merciful.mp4. Notice the spaces. So, the software would change that to Blessed%20Are%20The%20Merciful.mp4. That doesn't work anymore. When I changed the file name to not include spaces, it worked.
Thanks for the report. I will try to reproduce in house and write up a bug report.
I too encountered an error in trying to use a video this morning in Proclaim. The video was in .mp4 format and was giving an error saying the video type was not supported, however this was after I had already uploaded the video once with no issue.
The issue started to occur after I began running sound tests this morning. The video played fine at first for the first time, but then it stopped playing altogether. I figured I would just re-upload the video since it seemed to not be there in the slide anymore, and it was from that point I was getting the error message saying the type was unsupported.
However, after attempting to re-upload the video in two different formats from another computer and receiving the same error message, I re-opened Proclaim on the first computer and the video began to work just fine.
Thankfully the video ended up working during service, but it was very frustrating to go through that this morning.
I encountered an error similar in my testing on Friday. I have already written a bug report so it will be worked on very soon.
We had the same issue...did the work at home on our own computers. showed up at church to run it and it took 45 minutes to upload any video. Bummer! We have some Easter video's to run. Please get this fixed ASAP.
ALSO, might we suggest saving all updates to either a Monday or Thursday...these updates coming in before a service is nerve-wracking. Thanks
Could you provide a video that is giving you this error via dropbox? Also, does this happen on Mac, Windows or both? A screenshot of the error message in question would be helpful too, just so we could see what the issue is?
Lastly, providing logs after reproducing the issue would be helpful in tracking down this issue.
Are you on Mac or Windows?
Does this sound like the specific message you observed? - "Not a supported video file."
Or did it happen directly after selecting the file? - "An invalid type of file was chosen."
Were you on Mac or Windows?
The error message I was getting was "Not a supported video file."
Both instances were on Windows.
