Losing control of the presentation

We ran into an issue Easter Sunday this past week. Apparently, the speaker who is controlling the slides with a clicker loses control of the slides when the person at the computer must edit something. In our case, the person at the computer had to type in the number of a child for a parent to assist in the kids ministry. When they did this, the speaker lost control. This causes a disruption in the service when the slides won't work and the speaker had to rely on the tech booth to control slides. Is there a way to keep the speaker from losing control if something needs to be edited or added on Proclaim during the presentation?

What type of remote are you using to control the presentation?

Is there any possible way you could use the Proclaim Remote App? This allows for the Speaker to control the presentation while editing is taking place, such as setting crawl text, pager text, etc.

It is a generic wireless presentation remote. We've tried the proclaim presenter app in the past but there was a large delay in the response time, so it was problematic. It may have been an issue with the ipad being slow, so we may try a newer device with the app and see if that helps?

I have one that I am going to test with here shortly and I am going to try and reproduce your issue.

So after further testing, I realized that the simple presenter remote I have corresponds to hitting the arrow keys on the keyboard. If yours works the same way, this would explain why you would lose control of the presentation if the person at the computer started making edits; Once the person at the computer navigated to a text box, the wireless remote would control the cursor in the text box. If the person at the computer clicked on the timeline after making edits, the speaker would be able to continue controlling the presentation.

In order to make edits and control the presentation from a remote at the same time, you should try to use the Proclaim Remote App again.
