FEEDBACK: Media Browser Content

I'm not sure what the preferred method is for providing feedback on the Logos/Verbum Now.  I'll try this and you can coach me in the most effective way.

Having used the Logos Now Media Browser for a little while I would like to say that the 16,000 plus photos are amazing and should be helpful for me in study and teaching.  Having said that, there are a number of them that look like they were internal Logos photos of various kinds and subjects.  Those photos have a generic IMG xxxx and DSC xxxx and don't seem to be searchable in any way.  I just ran across them scrolling through all the content.

Don't get me wrong, I like many of them, although I'm not sure how I would use one of the dozen or so photos of Sean Boisen sitting at a desk with a MacBook.

Smile

EDIT:  ... okay, so there are 150 photos of Sean at a desk ...

Too many fluffs in the Media Browser.

Plus there need to be a way to download contents all at once or something. Instead of one by one when we need something larger. Too much clicking...

Also there's no favorite folder where we can go back to our media favorites. Again, too much clicking...

Can you give some examples of what you mean by "fluff"? Its pretty typical faceted search so I truly don't understand. I assume that the "too much clicking" applies primarily to the faceted search - the download and favorites I understand.

Mike, thanks for the good suggestions. We'll keep them in mind for future updates.

Steve, the "Logos Stock Images" collection is pretty much just that: Stock photography. Many of them come as leftovers from marketing photo shoots. Some of them are just photos our artists and designers have taken. Generally speaking, they should be suitable for either worship backgrounds, illustration slides, or ... well, whatever you want. The "guy with laptop" pictures were tagged "Laptop" so if you were ever searching for that, you'd find them.

That said, I agree that more tagging would make them more useful, and that maybe you don't need all 150 shots of a man using a laptop. I will ask our designers to be a little more discriminating in the future -- at least to thin the herd a little, so to speak.

(PS, this guy? I don't know who he is, but not Sean Boisen.)

    Thanks!

Well, I feel silly once again.  [:$]  I thought it was the person I see in the Logos 6 video.

    Thanks, Eli.

It is - the video shows Sean but also an actor who looks a bit like Sean but wears black-rimmed glasses (he features as a "typically pastoral" figure in many other promo videos and photographs - including, dressed slightly differently, for Lutheran and Anglican packages). I remember even a thread where someone thought they recognized this 'evangelical pastor' and asked for the name. Obviously a good choice - and Sean has probably enough work with caring for datasets etc.

Have joy in the Lord! Smile

(I found this thread easily by searching for the one word I distinctly remember mentioned: "eye-teeth". It stayed with me because, at the time, I had no idea what they were [:)])
