    Installed no problem

    BWS crash fixed

Bradley, was the BWS crash on the lemma search of δουλος supposed to be fixed? While the normal BWS crash is fixed, it still crashes on that specific search.

These appear to work as designed. The red 'x' appears in Note files, but not in the Guide sections. Correct?

    Cool new features!

BWS works for me too, and seems to be faster than before.

The BWS crash on the lemma search of δουλος still exists in 4.0b beta 2.

We're aware of this issue; it will probably be fixed (for 4.0a and 4.0b) through updated Lemma List and Grammatical Relationship resources; more details will be posted the updated resources are ready.

What is this? How do you do it? What's the syntax?

I just noticed (I think it's new in Beta 2) that the Close All icon has changed from this:

    image

    to this:

    image

I liked the old one better. Why the change? Is there a time coming soon when we'll be able to customize all our icons on the shortcut bar?

Rosie, the icon was not specific for the close all command. It was just generic icon for any command. It might be they started to designate a specific icons to some commands and that's the change you see.

EDIT: no, I just noticed it is not a specific icon. It is just a new generic icon for all commands.

I still would love to be able to choose from an icon libary (to which I can add my own custom icons) for icons on the shortcut menu. I cannot distinguish between the different commands or Guides or bookmarks by looking at the icons currently. I know you can hover your mouse over them to see more detail in a popup bubble (and it seems they've now added preview windows for when you hover over layout shortcuts), but it would be really nice not to have to go hovering over a dozen icons to find the one I want. It's not really a "Shortcut" bar, is it, if I have to examine everything to pick what I want. Should be an almost mindless choice. Visual distinction (and/or editable textual labels) is a must.

Rosie, I fully agree with you in that matter. They have a different icons but for the type of icon. (I have different one for the layouts, different ones for the highlighting window etc.) Not urgent need but it would help.

I agree it's not urgent. I'd much rather see them finish putting in the 3.0 functionality than spend time on pretty enhancements like this. But someday...

That was 3.0 functionality.  [;)]  So I don't mind if they spend time putting it in.

On the upside, the new global command icon at least looks like a generic command prompt, and hence visually says "command" to my brain.

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense to people who remember the old DOS prompt or use command line in Windows. Thus I figured out what they meant by it. But it's still ugly because it's too geeky and is not at all colorful. :-(   [Not that geekiness means ugly necessarily: check out Chart Wars (Alex Lundry) – the political power of data visualization (video recommended by Bob Pritchett)]

Importing highlighting works now where it failed before.  Great job on a quick fix!  Aside from sermon files (which I hope comes soon!) I am know happily transitioned to L4 and don't feel like I am leaving anything behind.

It seems that we have lost the ability to nest folders in "Favorites" or even the ability to add items such as clippings and notes to a folder.

Yikes! I confirmed that this is broken for me too, in 4.0b Beta 2. My nested folders that I already had are intact, but I can't create any new ones.

Yep, folders are broken in favorites.  I think the favorites window needs work anyway:  I should be able to create a link in a folder without having to drag it there after the fact.

I actually found this bug in 4.0b Beta 1, but by the time I noticed it, Beta 2 was available.

I started comparing my imported notes with the original files and found some serious problems.  Some notes came in in the wrong order.  Others aren't there at all.  Also in the scroll bar won't go all the way down to the bottom of it's range.  No errors were reported during the import.

Some notes came in in the wrong order.

The note import in Logos 4 is not currently order preserving. The notes in Logos 4 are ordered as if you had right clicked -> Add Note each note. We will fix this for a future release.

    Others aren't there at all.

Please attach the LDLS 3 note file and if possible provide more information about what exactly is missing.

Also in the scroll bar won't go all the way down to the bottom of it's range.

This is currently by design. We're displaying the notes in a different kind of list to support the large number of notes some user submitted documents had.

No errors were reported during the import.

Any errors occurring during import will be in the log file. http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging

Note importing will be order preserving in the next beta.

This was the last bitmap icon that carried over from early in development. If you were in the private beta for 4.0 you may remember a wrench icon floating around before I was able to replace it. This is another one like the wrench.

This is just a replacement for the default command icon, more specific command icons should come in a future release, but I don't know when.

I don't know if it is a bug or limited functionality but when I click on hits from "My Content" after a search, it simply opens the file (eg, a note file) but does not display the entry where the hit is found. For instance, I was looking for a note I had made on the colour white in my Bible notes. Indeed Bible Notes showed under the My Content results, but the click led me to my entry on Genesis 1:1. I had to CTRL-F "White" in order to find the actual entry (on Leviticus 14:4). What happened to the red circle?

Bradley edits that "Known Issues" section of his post when he sees the bug reports coming in here, for the benefit of people just now seeing the beta release and reading the notes for the first time. He added that line to the "Known Issues" section within the last couple of hours, I'm pretty sure. I know it wasn't there before when I checked for it, and the list had only 4 items in it when I downloaded the beta.

Same here launched L4 and it immediately auto updated, performance seems impressive considering I'm running it in vmware 6.x on top of windows 7 64bit. Didn't want to run it on the host OS along with my 4.0a, on that note I also run Libronix 3.0 in another VM, on top of the host that my 4.0a is installed on. Allows for a lot ov versatility.
