Video/Audio not synching

I've loaded a video onto our program, and I can't get the audio and video to synch. I've tried loading it local; I've tried syncing it to my group; I've tried showing it from You Tube. All of them have the same issue: They work fine in edit mode, but, when I put them on the screen/On Air, it's like the video starts a beat before the audio. Suggestions?

Both May 3 & May 10 presentations are effected, though May 10 is obviously more important to us. May 10 is the one I've been playing with. As an afterthought, I just checked it out on my office computer to see how it works... and, of course, it works fine. So, I don't know if it's the media computer we're using in the sanctuary, or if there's something we can adjust with proclaim. Thanks for whatever help you can give.

I am not able to reproduce the Video/Audio not syncing issue on my machine, so I think it might be related to the computer you are using. I would make sure there are no pending updates on your media computer, as well as check if the video drivers are up to date; After this is done, please check if your audio and video is out of sync.

Also, what is the set up you are using for the media computer? Are you using a projector, TV, etc?

Okay so I remember someone having a similar issue but I can't seem to find the forum post at the moment. Since you are using TVs as your output, I suspect there might be some slight input lag between your computer and the TVs. One way to improve the input lag is to enable a setting on your TVs called 'Game Mode'; this setting should be available on your LG brand ones. To enable this setting, follow the instructions here; You will see the instructions for LG Electronics a little ways down the page.

Please try enabling Game Mode and see if this helps with the audio lag.

The format of the video is .mov. Would it be possible that the format is part of the problem? I guess not likely if it's only acting up on this computer, but it's something that was suggested.

Changing to Game Mode didn't help, but I appreciate the try and directions.

I did try with other You Tube videos just to see if it was that video in particular. Nope - they all gave me problems. We should be getting a new Mac next month, so we may need to just suck it up for a month.

On our media computer, we obviously have several screens that we can control (3 TV's & 2 monitors, in this case). Using our controls on the computer to lower the resolution for those tv screens from 1080 to 720 seemed to do the trick. Our computer tech guy (who was here working on a separate issue) seems to think it's because Proclaim is working with our computer video card rather than the juiced up external video card we added so boost the signal. I don't understand it all, and am probably not explaining it well, but that's what seems to have been the problem, anyway. As I said, we're getting a new computer (I discovered this one's at least five years old) next month, so that should help with the issue, too.

I'm glad to hear this helped. Sounds like a hardware issue to me as your tech guy suggested.
