I see encouragements to bid on particular CP items all the time, so I wanted to highlight his one:
The Works of John Brown of Haddington
As far as I know, John Brown wrote the first reformed Study Bible at a time where it was barely technologically feasible as an encouragement to people that they can personally read the Bible and understand it. If you look for one of these published Bibles, they're very cool, and very expensive.
To get the Self-Interpreting Bible into Logos would be great on its own and worth the $30 the CP is projecting. To get the other works would be a great bonus.
We've got to get it done before Brown's [possible] Millenium date of 2016!
Time may be running out! (Though perhaps computers get to be in John Brown's Millenium--he didn't say.)
From page 20 of his dictionary, near the end of the "AGE" entry, "The duration of the New Testament period may be divided into, (1.) The age of the seals, ending at the opening of the seventh, A.D. 323. (2.) The age of the preparations for Antichrist, under the four trumpets, Rev. viii. [Rev 8] and ending about A.D. 606. (3.) The age of Antichrist, containing 1260 years, besides 75 years of extirpation. Rev. xi. 2. [Rev 11:2] Dan. xii. 11,12 [Dan 12:11-12]. (4.) The millennium, or thousand years, reign of the saints. If we date the rise of Antichrist from the Pope's assuming an universal dominion over the church, we hope the millenium will begin about A.D. 1940, or sooner: But if we date the rise of Antichrist from the Pope's commencing a civil lord, about A.D. 756, we cannot hope for the beginning of the millennium, till after A.D. 2016.
