Erin Land, any thoughts, comments. or suggestions on this book? It is a very valuable resource to have. Thanks.

    Everett and Kenute,

I believe this ebook is on hold from Vyrso as a potential candidate for Logos.

    That's even BETTER news.

You (Faithlife) definitely need a process to review the "on hold list" regularily and keep only stuff on it where there is a) a real technical and/or business reason to have it there and b) a realistic potential to see this in Logos over whatever a reasonable planning period for this might be (say a year for a "normal" book, three years for a complex one like a commentary?). And if there is a realistic potential and there is no foreseeable publisher contract issue, then it should be placed on PrePub, which will help focus text production according to customer interest (=sales potential).

This book is from 2004! People beg for it (e.g. back in 2013). Frankly, I don't see hearing "something is on the Logos-candidate-list" as good news, as I think text production is not able to deliver Logos books for all what must be on this list, and by not having them in either Logos or Vyrso, you are losing money and driving people into the arms of the competition.

I guess it is just me, but I'd rather wait for a Logos resource than have a Vyrso resource now.

But I agree not everything is Logos-resource-worthy.

Really? I would much rather have a Vyrso resource now, then have it upgraded to a Logos edition later.

    Yep.

First, I don't want to pay for it twice. Second, of the few resources I've seen that had been converted like this, the QC was pretty suspect. Third, even if it takes some time to get it tagged, the Vyrso version is pretty much useless to me.

    Just my opinion.

Ah. That's where you are not understanding. You NEVER pay for a resource twice. If FL puts the resource into Vyrso and then later creates a Logos edition, you receive the Logos edition gratis. That is why when FL thinks they will end up creating a Logos edition, they withhold the title.

That isnt true with 90%+ of resources. In most cases, the resulting Vyrso edition is more than adequate.

I completely agree with you NB.Mick.  Logos has books on hold way too long, and people have been asking for this since 2013, and here it is 2015! What is the Problem??????? Things like this with FAITHLIFE are really ridiculous, annoying, and irritating! 2013-2015 - how much more ludicrous can you get!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Put it on VYRSO or LOGOS, but get it done!

Good to know (but I've never bought a Vyrso resource. I have six or eight of them...all were freebies).

All I've seen is a number of threads on the forums about some that weren't OK. I suppose people don't complain about the ones that work.

I am in the same group here.  Logos has always done a very poor job communicating to their base (But in numerous ways have poured resources into marketing).  Their timelines are spotty, incomplete and undependable.  Put it in prepub.  Do a CP.   Anything is better than the "we are looking into answer."  At what point do the thousands of dollars I have already spent, speak to Logos and motivate them to action?

    Hi everyone,

I apologize for the inconvenience you've experienced with delays. I'd like to clarify a few things:

    1. You will never pay for a resource twice—if a Vyrso ebook goes to Logos and you've purchased the Vyrso ebook, you will automatically get the Logos edition.

    2. As I've previously said, it takes work and time to get an agreement with publishers for Vyrso ebooks and to create Logos editions. Delays like this are often a result of the process it takes to obtain the rights to these resources, and the work it takes to get files converted and ready for Logos. We appreciate your patience.

    3. Feedback and suggestions concerning Logos will have better visibility on the Suggestions forum—please feel free to voice concern or suggestions there about Logos Pre-Pubs or Community Pricing. We appreciate your feedback.

Erin, you answered everything but what was originally asked.  To restate:  Can we expect this resource to be in either platform and when (as explicit as possible)?

    Everett,

As I said previously, it's a Logos edition candidate. We are negotiating with the publisher to license this title for Logos, thus there is no ship date yet until we can guarantee we will be able to sell it.

Is it common for a publishing house to refrain from letting books in their catalog be in Logos when others are already in and are still live?
