How to tag authors in Personal Book journals etc.?
Hi!
Is there a code to tag authors in PBB? I'm making Personal Books of some journals and article collections and there are of course articles by diferent authors. I'd like to make them searchable by author.

I did this as well at one point and the only workaround I found was to include every authors name in the author field when filling in the metadata at the time of building the book. This will allow you to see the authors in the library view, but to find the authors in a search you'd have to just search their name just like any other phrase using quotes. I don't think we have tagging capability beyond that at this point. Though I'm certainly willing to stand corrected If I'm wrong :-)

I have tried to use the author field, but I don't know how to do it (or then it's not implemented in PBB).
I've tried codes like {{field-on:Author "Lastname, Firstname"}} text here... {{field-off:Author}} and {{field-on:Author >> Lastname, Firstname}} text here... {{field-off:Author}} , but they doesn't seem to work. The resource has Author listed in the search fields, but the author is not found in my searches.

Here is the docx example file that i used below
Below is how i setup this example PBB
=================================================================
After building the PBB (Personal Book) it will look as shown below
=================================================================
If you click on the (info icon) for our PBB, you can verify that your author field is present in your PBB (as shown below)
=================================================================
Now we can use Search to find an author in our PBB, we will need to select Author in the Search's fields (see below)
Then our search will find our author as shown below

Thanks Doc! Glad that you found it useful. It took me 30 minutes to figure this out and compose the reply.
Hope others above and the many who have viewed it since my posting find it useful as well!

Thank you, Steve! Now it works fine. It was more simple as I thought and I tried to do it too difficult way.

That is great to hear Mikko!
After experimenting to figure out your problem, it seems that many of these search fields (as listed by Mr Roberts above) may operate this way.
Edit: for those who might be using LibreOffice or OpenOffice and cannot see my example above:
i used this format for the search field author {{ field-on:author }}John Doe{{ field-off:author }}

We appreciate the time.
I'm writing my "own" manual, and this type of example really helps flesh out the application of the L6 tools.
Thanks again.
