Collected Works of John Nelson Darby
This has been on community pricing for 3 years and has little or no movement. I get Darby's ideas probably are not popular in the 21st century but he is the reason the church was tainted with dispensation doctrines in the 20th century. I would love to have this in the software. So, please go bid.

I'm no longer dispensational but would benefit from his writing for research purposes. Unfortunately, his works will never likely be published by Logos unless they are split up.

Matt,
I'm glad you've brought this to attention. Darby ought to be more often read by those seeking to understand God's word, and frankly, I believe you will find that rather than 'tainting' the church's doctrine with dispensationalism, that what he teaches is surprisingly far removed from modern dispensationalism.
Each generation of dispensationalists become more and more preoccupied with defining (or blurring, for that matter) ages. Darby, in contrast, was fixated on the grace of God, and his writings stress primarily union with Christ and deliverance from the law for the believer. It is this, and not his division of dispensations that guides his more often talked about teachings (rapture, Church, Istrael, etc). Frankly, I have not read anyone whose understanding of the word of God embodies the whole of scrupture as Darby does. Every verse fits in perfectly and logically, where others explain the obvious away.
Read the man before branding him misguided.
Until Logos publishes this collection, here's something to whet your appetite

I am going to drop my bid in an effort to encourage lower bids that would bring down the price. Instead of bidding at $90, what if we all attempted to bid at, say, $50?
I would love to see his works in Logos and also find that his focus on grace, union with Christ and deliverance from the law for the believer are very helpful.

I wonder if Logos would allow a docx PBB of an item waiting in Pre-Pub?
If so I could post the entire works of Darby as docx, minimally tagged for compiling (public domain). At least until the fully tagged Logos product eventuates.
Can anyone advise?

Okay, I raised my bid to meet you at $50. Perhaps this will help get it moving again.

I also think this could be pushed in the General Forum because I think that Darby would have a broader appeal than from an Anglican background.

I think the problem is low bidding and the size of the collection. Few of the collections that go relatively quickly to production via Community Pricing get past 50% with starting bids as low as $2 or $1 per volume. Sometimes they drop that low once they get into their last few days before closing as the last minute crowd get onboard. This collection has 47 titles so $50 bids are not going to help it move quickly at this stage.

David, that may be so, but it has been stuck at $90 for 3 years which means it is not moving at that price.

Peter, as far as I know, this has been done in the past and when the product goes live, the link to the pbb is often taken down. So I think this is possible. Again, as far as I know, the work is in public domain; it is not offered in Logos at the moment, and that is what pbb is all about: producing books not in logos that one wants in their library.

Is there a PBB containing Darby's works available? Like everyone on the thread I have been waiting a long time and nothing is happening with Logos so was wondering if Peter or anyone else has made his writings available for Logos
Thanks!
Dan
