Proclaim Remote App: Slides displaying incorrectly

The past couple of weeks I have experienced the android proclaim remote app while in control mode and speaker notes enabled not displaying the correct slide content on the app but seems to display the correct notes.

Currently the presentation pc sits on the podium with the speaker notes displayed so I have been able to alt tab to switch between proclaims main view and notes to complete my message.

I use a Samsung Galaxy NotePro 12.2 SM‑P900 to control the presentation to be a little more mobile and still have my notes and sides to keep me on track.  It really catches you off guard when a slide repeates but displays the correct notes.

Please advise how I may not experience this again.

I also like to have the ability to control the size of the slide and text on the remote app. For example to adjust the size of the slide smaller and increase the speaker notes text size to fit the screen for optimum viewing arms length away so I don't have to plant my face in my device but am able to glace at it and keep better eye contact with the congregation.

A similar view on the presentation pc with slide navigation and speakers notes with size control for both slide and speaker notes text size would be very helpful as well.  Currently the presentation PC speaker notes are not scrollable and it would work much nicer for me if it would work more like the app to scroll through a longer page of notes when needed.   This could be an added feature of the presentation pc to display and resize slides and speaker notes for those whom use proclaim like I do.  I know other presentation programs work this way for those who do not have tablets for remote control and viewing speaker notes.

I have even dreamed of a way to create my messages like writing a document and inserting the code to control when to insert scripture like I just recently have seen on a proclaim minute by typing [[John 10:10]] but with a twist.  To have proclaim start using these features from the notes with the ability for additional codes for say new slide, denote this text to display as content, maybe even show as a different color in my notes, etc.  You get the idea.  Even the ability to import or load this file and the core of a presentation would be created with notes.  Maybe it's because I come from an technology background but I just think it would be simpler to take my speaker notes and once in proclaim customize the background, text size, color, and add any other final touches needed.

I love logos products!

Thanks for allowing me to better communicate the gospel message with confidence.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Seeing the incorrect slide in the Android app is a bug. It seems that scrolling fast can sometimes cause the slides to get a little scrambled. I will need to take a look at this soon. Does this happen for you consistently or does it only happen hit-or-miss? If you can reproduce it consistently, I would love to hear some repro steps on how you can get this bug to occur.

As for the text size/slide size, that makes a lot of sense and I'll put that in my list of features to implement.

Keep these ideas coming! Many Proclaim features get started and shaped from these kinds of posts. We love hearing how people use Proclaim and what they would like to see in the future!

Jordan I will try to do some further testing to find out if there is a way to reproduce it consistently.

I did forget to add another feature request and that is the ability to access the speaker notes while not online.  Mainly this allows for notes access to prepare for service on the go and to reference latter when someone has followup questions.

    Sounds good.

Just to clarify, you would like to see your notes when the presentation is not onAir? Similar to how you can view your slides in the app from all your presentations? Makes sense to me!

Yes with in the Proclaim Remote App while a presentation is not OnAir to not only be able to see the slides but also see the speaker notes.  For service prep/review while on the go.

I forgot to note the old Proclaim Remote App had this feature.   It would be nice that the view would look like it was OnAir so as I prep for service it will look the same as when OnAir.

    Jordan,

I have tested with my last presentation and so far it shuffles some slides on the remote app every time but not the same slide.  I did however notice that with speaker notes enabled and when displaying a bible slide at the top of the speaker notes box the reference is displayed as Mark 10:46–52 BIBLE PASSAGE.  It seems that anytime a reference includes a - (dash) that – is displayed instead. Not sure if this is part of the problem or not.

I have experienced issues in the past that I couldn't figure out and just remembered what I tried.  Since I duplicate old presentations each week and make my changes for my current presentation.  I remembered that I started from a blank one and my issues disappeared.  If I recall this happened after some new function had been added.  So that we be my next test.

I would ask that if you find and further workarounds\fixes please notify me.

Thank-you for your help Troy, I will let you know what I find.

(p.s. I doubt the dash is causing your issue, however it shouldn't be rendering weird, so I will take a look at that too)

    Jordan,

After trying several things (tired to use summer presentation and then a new from scratch presentation) I still experienced the same issue consistently.  I noticed that sometimes on opening to control a presentation and slowly just scrolling the slides to check their order some would be displayed incorrectly within the Proclaim Remote App. But once you start advancing the sides they appeared correctly once I got to that slide.  The more consistent way in which I was able to duplicate the issue was to present each of the first 2 to 3 slides then scroll down past the next slide and then scroll back up to the slide that is next from the active one being presented.

To get the slides to be shown correctly I either exited from controlling the presentation on the Proclaim remote app or I found that if I scrolled fast to the bottom and fast back to the top of the presentation and the slides would be shown correctly again.  The scrolling reset is not a good option on a long presentation. :)

So to recap it seems that scrolling down more than 1 slide at a time and then back up gets the undesired results of incorrectly displaying the slides within the Proclaim remote app.

Also I'm not sure where the app crash logs go when I report them but during my testing the proclaim remote app crashed several times it seemed when the slides were being displayed incorrectly and I continued to scroll up and down without doing a "slide reset".  I said that to say Google and you should have access to some kind of troubleshooting logs to assist you in correcting this as I reported it several times.

So my next question is can this be corrected by this weekend?   Please!
