Which Sunday BCP lectionary?

Does anyone know if the Sunday BCP lectionary in the Anglican package library is the most recent version of the lectionary? It's titled the 1979 lectionary, but back in 2009 (I think) Convention changed the lectionary to be more consistent with the RCL. (I voted against that, but it didn't seem to matter... heh.)

So is the lectionary in Logos, the original 79 lectionary, or the more recently authorized BCP lectionary?

The Anglican packages should all include the RCL; the the Sunday Lectionary from the 1979 BCP; and the Daily Office Lectionary from the 1979 BCP. They are labelled as such.

In my library I have the RCL prioritized for Sunday readings and the BCP daily office prioritized for everything else. I basically ignore the original 79 Sunday lectionary.

The pure RCL was modified for use in the Episcopal Church when it was adopted. Most of the lessons are the same, but there changes made particularly for Holy Week etc. So, it sounds like the RCL in Logos would be the standard version, not the version in use in the Episcopal Church. (Which makes sense, given Logos' market.)

Do you know the extent of the modifications beyond Holy Week?

Also, do you know if the Anglican Church of Canada and the CoE made the same modifications when it adopted the RCL?

I'll forward this information to the right people and see what we can do about getting a corrected version of the RCL for use in the Episcopal Church.

It is possible the Episcopal Church may have also moved the transfiguration from the last sunday of epiphany back to August 6th... My anglican church leaves it where the RCL places it but i know others who have it in August.

That's where I was for 5 years before coming back to the states two years ago (thus I missed the discussion of the ECUSA's change and assumed that when the updated BCP referred to the RCL it was referring to the stock configuration). I was under the impression that the ACoC adopted the RCL w/o modification.

Yes they did but I do know of churches that still have the transfiguration in august... Some habits die hard... Having been raised lutheran with the LBW I always found the Epiphany/Transfiguration best... which is an ancient tradition as well. Knowing of churches in Alberta that prefer the August date I had thought the Episcopal Church may have possibly done it... my only print copy of the Episcopal USA BCP is from the 90's.

When mentioning the BCP and BCP lectionary it is always best to be very explicit on whose BCP and Lectionary it is and which edition by which Anglican Church. ACoC BCP editions are not aligned to ECUSA changes. While most Anglican Church of Canada BCP users are using the 1962 edition of BCP, there are still a number of 1918 editions around (printed much later than 1918 in most cases !!)

I been in many churches that have the 1959 printings which i know have some differences form the 1962 printings but don;t remember what was corrected. I have a 1918 edition little ivory covers with hymns in the back... I do not have a current one just my BAS....

Let me see if I can get the details from someone in the Presiding Bishop's office. There's probably a table that was made up somewhere along the process to getting the changes made.
