Any way to do "sub-presentations"?

We have four services on a weekend: three of them use a common presentation, and the fourth uses a completely different liturgy.

The announcements that play during the Pre-Service Loop, however, are (or should be) exactly the same.

It's kind of a pain to have to replicate that series of slides between the two presentations, and it's especially tricky when we roll forward older presentations in order to capture the appropriate liturgical elements rather than building the presentation from scratch.

Is there a way to have a "sub-presentation" that we would simply include in the main presentation?

For example, we could create a small presentation with all of the announcement slides, then simply drop in a marker in the main service presentation that says "go fetch this presentation and show it". That way we could have a Pre-Service Loop that looks like this:

* Welcome Slide
* [[show the announcement sub-presentation]]

This would also allow us to maintain a single "Announcements" sub-presentation that would always be up-to-date. If we duplicate a main service presentation from a prior date, it would simply pick up and display the latest version of the sub-presentation.

If it's not possible to do this now, consider this a feature request!

Hi, Eric. If I understand what you're asking correctly, I think that the option to select multiple items and copy them should suffice to accomplish your task.

In the Order of Service pane on the left, click the topmost item you want to duplicate. Hold down shift, and click on the final item you want copied. This should select all of the service items you want to copy.

Right click on the selected items and click "Copy" (or press Ctrl + C). From here you can go to whichever presentation you want (the items will stay on the clipboard if you change presentations) and paste the items accordingly.

That helps a little bit (it's certainly more efficient than what I've been doing), but it doesn't really do what I'd like to do.

I dislike that it still requires that I replicate stuff all over the place; I'd rather be able to have a separate announcement presentation that simply gets included in other presentations so that it only has to be edited in one place, one time.

Alternately, you could create a new presentation (your sub-presentation) and copy/paste the entire thing into your main presentation. That way it is completely separate from your main presentation as far as editing is concerned.
