Uploading Songs from Open Song

I'm using the import songs function.  Proclaim says the song was successfully imported but I can't find it.  I think it should be in the group's folder but I can't find it.

More details.  Want to bring songs in from Open Song.  I discovered that if I take the Open Song file and rename the file type to .xml it seemed to be recognized and uploaded.  However, I can't find the song.

I am new to Proclaim but it doesn't seem like I have much choice of where to look.

Thanks

Hello Ed and welcome to the forums. When you import songs they will be available in the My Songs area of the song entry helper.

Use the Add Item menu button to add a Song item, then begin typing in the title field and you should start seeing your imported songs.

Thank you.  I now know where the songs should be.  So now the harder question.  Following the import attempt I get the message that the song uploaded successfully.  But My Songs is empty.  We are just getting started with Proclaim so perhaps there is more that needed to be done to configure our group.

Actually I've discovered that depending on what letter I type I see nothing or a complete list in the my songs section.  The letter doesn't seem to have any relation to the song titles in the list.  The letter a brings up the songs I have been trying to upload.  The letter t results in My Song being empty.  I think that the letter t should have brought up "This is the Day" which is one of the songs I attempted to upload.

Is there any way to organize our songs?  Or will they all just be in My Songs?  Will everyone in the group see My Songs?  We have contemporary and traditional songs that occasionally have the same name.  Just trying to see if we can structure the songs into groups we are familiar with.

The suggestions we show when you enter text is based on a word stemming algorithm. Most of your songs may have the word "a" in them so you see lots of results when entering "a". None of your songs have the word "t" in them so you see no results in this case. This explanation is overly simplified but that's the gist.

Not at this time but it is a frequently requested feature and is on our radar.

    Yes.

If you can name them uniquely (e.g. Amazing Grace Traditional) that will be easiest in Proclaim.
