Help with Proclaim fresh install

Recently I noticed that Proclaim after each update gave a message saying it couldn't remove the old version and see the administrator.

Today the program just crashed mid-preaching and wouldn't start back up. I think Proclaim's days are numbered for us, but I do like the ease of use. I would like to do a completely fresh install before we look elsewhere.

Can someone walk me through a complete wipe of Proclaim? (Windows 8 - Aka - the anti-christ)

Hello Mike, sorry to hear about the crash. I don't see anything in our crash reporting system from your group. If you could post the Proclaim.log file to this thread before you uninstall that will help us figure out what's going on. Also if there's anything in Windows Event Viewer (Application log) from when the application fails to start up.

Follow the following steps for a "clean" install

Uninstall Proclaim and Proclaim Prerequisites using the Windows Add/Remove programs tool
Delete directory %LOCALAPPDATA%\Proclaim (note that all unsynced changes will be lost)
Install Proclaim from http://proclaimonline.com/download

We don't have any known crashes on Windows. The most common cause for mysterious crashes on Windows is related to video playback, the root cause being underpowered video cards or out of date video drivers.

One additional note just in case - be sure to reboot your machine prior to uninstall and, just to be totally safe, after uninstall. If the Windows installer detects locked files it can skip install or uninstall and give you really strange errors.

I followed these directions, I couldn't find the directory. Part of the problem is I don't understand windows. In the end I uninstalled Proclaim and searched for all files entitled "Proclaim" and deleted them. After reinstall it doesn't even open. I have wasted a lot of time on this piece of software....

Would there be a way for someone to remotely help me? I know it's Sat night. If need be I could use my Mac at church tomorrow. So it doesn't have to be tonight.....
