Preparing Library hung
Opening up verbum after the last update it hangs at Preparing Library after a long hang at the Verbum splash screen (10 minutes)
I let it try overnight. I then executed one tip oof making sure the Verbum folders were not hidden and let it try again for 4 hours.
System
Windows 10-64bit home
8gb ram
I7 4500
i cant get the verbum version as it wont ever get that far
any ideas

This happened to me a couple of weeks ago, since moving onto Windows 10. The culprit was windows update not working. Do you know if yours is working?

Win 10 latest update, technically called an upgrade by Microsoft is what hung the update process. Once it was done "upgrading" to the latest Win 10 1511 it was all fine.

Good to see this thread. I will probably doing the Windows 10 upgrade soon, so now I know what to look for if this happens to me.
