Personal books : Table of contents
Hi there
I know how to create a personal book. What i wanna know is the following.
I want to add a personal book consisting out of several files. Is there a way to create a table of contents so that the hyperlink or name of file displays in table of contents. I wanna click on a name to navigate to that file and not wanna scroll down all the way.

The names of the files are meaningless to Logos (and rightly so!). You will want to employ Heading styles in Word, which will auto-populate the Logos ToC running along the resource text on the lefthand side.
There's also the possibility of using milestones (see the wiki page on Personal books on how to create these) within the PB and building a manual ToC jumping to those milestones wherever you like.
Or use the special PB sermon builder table to let Logos generate indexes for you, one potentially functioning as an automated ToC at the end of the PB.
I use Heading styles and sermon index stuff to gradually build a multi-file PB of relevant writings by Martin Luther from the Luther reading challenge website, looks like this:

Hi There
I thought of using headings. The only thing is that the book is in several files so not sure how to create the ToC if i use several files.

Logos will treat them as if they were in one large file. So just make sure you have all on the same level that should be, you're fine.

Looks like i'm doing something wrong. I added the title to heading 1 on both documents and saved them. Logos 6 still shows one large manuscript. Can you perhaps give suggestions on what i'm doing wrong?

Are you able to post extracts of the documents so we can have a look at them - assuming that doesn't go against any privacy or confidentiality constraints?

Hi there
Lets make it easy and take some of my sermon files. It is from the Catechism. The files are named as follows
HC sunday 1
HC sunday 2
HC sunday 3
HC sunday 4
HC sunday 5 (up to 10)
What i want to do is create a personal book which contains all 10 files with a table of contents. I already set the title (HC sunday 1 etc.) to heading 1. I want it to display a table of contents in Logos 6.

I want it to display a table of contents in Logos 6.
And what you describe should do what you are looking for.
Are you able to post a couple of these files?

Thanks for posting.
The issue is that you haven't set the headings to "Heading 1" in Word.
If you do you will get the ToC entries you are looking for.
When I do that I get the book structured as shown
I've uploaded the modified documents

No - there is no setting needed for this
If i build the book it don't give me the ToC
Do you mean that when the build the book with the new files you still don't get the ToC?

I managed to create a ToC on another book that consisted of 1 file which works. I'm battling to set up a ToC when i'm using multiple files.
What happens if i create a test book with that 3 files, it gives me the book starting with text and not ToC.

OK i got it right this time.
There's a setting that i must choose in Logos 6 settings that says Show table of contents. I checked that setting and got the ToC. Thanks for the help.
