Lit! A Christian Guide to Reading Books is available here:;
https://vyrso.com/product/29634/lit-a-christian-guide-to-reading-books

It indicates I do not have it, but I do! I bought it on Nov 13, 2012. the URL then was here:
https://vyrso.com/product/15741/lit-a-christian-guide-to-reading-books
(no product there now)

What happened? Should I start checking order history and library before buying a book?

Unfortunately, yes. The resource ID #'s changed when a publisher bought out another one.

hmmm . . . My copy is published by Crossway. The current copy is published by Crossway.
    So, where is the change?

I may be wrong in this particular case... I don't know. At one time I had about 20 duplicates... which means that I repurchased about 20 resources. [:s]

If this IS one of the ones involved in that, the change is completely "behind the scenes."

It could also be that this is a different edition of the resource... And by "different edition" I mean:

    • It could be a major revision
    • It could be one with a different cover
    • It could be one with new blurbs

If the publisher provides a "different" copy of the resource, it will cause a "new" book to appear in the store.

    Robert,

In the beginning, when Logos converted a Vyrso title to a full Logos title, they changed the file name. So in effect, you ended up with two titles in your Library. I went back and deleted the Vyrso title to clean up my library.

Now when Vryso titles are converted Logos is using the Vyrso file name, and when it ships, it just overrights the old file. That eliminates file duplication.

I don't know if this is what happened with you or not, but check your file name to be sure. I doubt you bought it twice.

    Best,

This isn't an issue of Vyrso to Logos. It is two separate Vyrso product numbers.

Alas Vyrso gives no details, but comparing mine, Amazon, and the new one, they have the same cover, released 2011, see no difference.

Your 20 dups would be discouraging. I have over 51K resources so have no idea if I have any. I should export the library to Excel then take it into Access and find out.

When they do a Logos version we keep the original Vyrso version. When I export the library and take it into Access I'll count those too.

    Hi Robert,

I believe this ebook was originally retired because the publisher was sending us an updated edition, which is the ebook that is currently live and available for purchase. Alabama is correct in that sometimes the resource ID number gets changed when major revisions are sent over by the publisher. I apologize for the confusion! Please let me know if you have other questions.
