A Beka Books on Vyrso

Now that A Beka Books are going digital, are there any chance we'd see some of them in Logos or Vyrso (primarily Vyrso)? Some of their Bible textbooks were handy when I was homeschooled, and I would love to be able to search them again. Some of their readers were good too, and it'd be fun to re-pull up some of my favorite A Beka stories and read them again.

What a wonderful idea! Not only would I need to buy a set for nostalgic reasons (my kids grew up on them, and I probably read nearly every one), but imagine kids growing up using Logos. Learning early how to use it well. Teaching their parents. Outdistancing peers, who would also want to use it. Logos and Abeka would both be winners, but none so great a winner as the customers. Mmmmm.

It surprises me to see A Beka going this route. They make a lot of money off of the fact that their books are consumable. Unless only the base textbooks are going to be electronic and the workbooks will continue to be print only. They make a ton of money off of the repeat business from the workbooks. I have a family of four, which means I'll have to buy four of each workbook. Electronically, I would only need one copy. Interesting.

Workbooks don't seem to be in their current digital lineup. Here's the current list of digital books available from them:

One other catch in their current platform that would make it somewhat "difficult" to get them in Vyrso format: the licenses for digital editions expires after 12 months, rendering the books non-accessible. Since books purchased on Vyrso are permanent, A Beka would have to work with Vyrso to allow for them to sell permanent licenses to these A Beka books. I'm already inquiring with them to see if they offer permanent electronic licenses of their resources for teaching purposes.

One possible alternative if A Beka doesn't want to allow permanent access would be to team up with Logos/Noet Cloud and offer an "A Beka+Logos/Noet Cloud" program that homeschoolers could subscribe to on an annual basis. It would offer access to the textbooks needed to complete each year's worth of schooling plus access to a curated library of Logos Bible study and educational resources that would be beneficial for school reports (KJV Bible, Bible dictionary, dictionary, thesaurus, possibly an encyclopedia, some biographies, classics etc). It could either be delivered over Logos or possibly better, over Noet.
