Hi
I have an issue that I can take a note but if I make a mistake typing and try to delete it will not let me delete the txt on a note or if I go into old notes I can't delete txt within the note.
Anyone experience this?
Version 4.6.5 build 453
What device and software keyboard are you using? If you long press a word in the note edit window does the word get selected?
Hi Kevin
Samsung s5. Yes I can select a word then delete.
Hi Kevin Samsung s5. Yes I can select a word then delete.
Okay, so does that help you edit the note?
it does but if you are taking notes and need to backspace quickly to correct or change a word it does not work therefore you have to highlight the word and delete it even if it was a spelling mistake ie mistakr you would delete the r and replace with e but highlighting the whole word takes more time. Strange it does not work as its simple txt edit it used to work fine
This sounds like it might be a Samsung S5 specific issue with it's built-in keyboard. Please enter a note and hit backspace (to replicate the problem), and then open the Help menu and tap Report a Problem so we can take a look at your device logs.
As a workaround you can install the Google Keyboard from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.inputmethod.latin and use it instead.
The Android developer I just spoke with asks you to follow these instructions to help understand the problem with your current keyboard:
This works on the reading view option to add a note and I can delete the word I have finished so that's fine. It's when I go to documents and edit or create a note in there that I have the issue.
I have added the support report and referenced this note.
Thanks
Hey Kevin
I have done this can you check up on a reply?
Darren
Somewhere along the line your report got misplaced (I apologize), could you please resend it?
Also, have you tried installing the Google Keyboard to see if it resolves the issue?
Yes the Google keyboard works fine thanks
