Sermon Recording Issues

First up, thanks for the sermon recording feature! It is really handy and certainly simplify our work flow of making it available for the congregation.

Just two issues that perhaps someone can help me with.

1) iTunes podcast picture display

Currently when I listen to my recordings via iTunes, my sermon artwork doesn't seem to display despite it being at the minimum size. The author's display pic (church logo) is also the blue mic icon. Is there anyway to change this? I also tried uploading my RSS to the iTunes Store. The author's icon is also the same blue mic icon.

2) Sermon Speaker

The sermon speaker info doesn't seem to be uploading to the Soundfaith website despite me filling it up. Please advise.

Regarding the blurry podcast picture, I assume you're referring to the individual episode/sermon image? Where do you see it? I'm having a hard time finding it in use on iTunes...

I am actually referring to the author profile image. I have attached screenshots below. You can see that the image thats supposed to be the church's logo is the blue mic icon. I am unable to change despite my church's logo in soundfaith is of a high resolution one.

Hey Aaron, I understand what you are saying. Currently, iTunes isn't taking any of the newer album artworks you have uploaded (they seem to ignore the episode-by-episode artwork).

What this means is that we need to provide you with an interface on SoundFaith.com to upload a new photo for the feed, which we don't have right now.

I just spoke with the SoundFaith.com guys and this is something they are aware of and will be working on.

Did that make sense?

p.s. I think you are seeing that blue microphone because that was the first image that was uploaded.

Thanks for the info! Yes, that makes absolutely sense now. I was wondering why my image doesn't get uploaded and thought I was doing something wrongly.

I just realized that iTunes is indeed using the episode-per-episode artwork, just.. sporadically. For instance, in your screenshot above, I can see your artwork in the 'Podcast Episode' section, but when playing your podcast on my phone it just shows the blue microphone. I confirmed this behavior with non-soundFaith feeds.. so it isn't that we a just doing something wrong. Thanks again, we will be looking into it.

Oh for that I think I know why.

Based on what I researched so far, the episode-per-episode artwork is attached to the xml feed as a link for every episode. Hence, you can see them in the search screen above. But when playing the podcast, it uses the artwork embedded in the podcast file's tag3.

Maybe one analogy I can think is that, we have a floor directory (xml file), the floor directory contains the address and corresponding products (artwork) of the shop listed. But when you visit the shop (podcast episode), the products must be in the shop in ordered to be viewed while in the shop. (when you play the file)

Hence, given that the artwork is not embedded in the file, iTunes will revert to show the profile picture of podcast author which is the blue microphone in this case. That's one of my problem. I want to to change my podcast profile image to my church logo but I am unable to change it.

So maybe to clarify things, there's two pictures we are discussing.

1. Episode per episode artwork

2. Podcast Coverart - Like the Album Art of the Podcast series.
