TIP of the day: Topic Guide Part 5 - Illustrations, Journals and Personal Letters

1. Illustrations like Sermons appear to simply be a search for the text "creation" in the titles (headings or large text) of the illustration resource collection. There is a current error report indicating that some illustrations appear under the sermon heading.

2. The Journal Section, on the other hand, is dependent upon two tags: one for the {Label Journa}l and one for the data entity <topic>. One can determine this based upon the Search built for additional results. Note that one can initiate the search for further journals either at the level of a particular journal or at the level of all journals. Remember that Logos maintains a distinction between journals and magazines - the former generally subject to peer review, the latter generally subject only to the editor.

3. Unfortunately, I am unable to find an example that populates the Personal Letter section. I would expect it to follow the pattern of the Journals but ...

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

M J, thanks for the search string.  I wished they had a one day course on search strings and formatting how copy and paste works.

My question is that in your post you have a picture of Factbook with one section titled 'Journals' I don't have that when I use Factbook.  I have an annual subscription to NOW and am running Logos 6.9.

I know how to add to the guides but I see no place to do that with the fact book.

Thanks so much for you posts, I always look at them and learn a great deal.

Oops - I try to avoid beta features but this one just slipped out. I need to run a memory check on my brain [:(] Thanks for handling it, James.
